I recently started getting into Warhammer tabletop, my only past experience is playing Warhammer online. Feel free to give advice, tips, or suggestions all are welcome. I plan on making them with red back scales with black / gray highlighted bellies or tan shields will be red. Dino's will almost all be black with red stripes or scales. So far everything is primed aside from the guards (primer can froze up and leaked all over, didn't realize you had to keep it warm / take breaks ) I broke out and separated all the pieces and the Carnosaur is glued together.
I have one awaiting mod approval! It's just a primed put together Carnosaur at the moment. I think so when I get home today I may put together some more and have some pictures. Mounting a scar-vet on a cold one and old blood will be on the carnosaur! I still need to figure out a paint scheme for the army in general, probably gonna take me a while.
Not my army, but my girlfriend used to have a Dryad army. She's re-making them, but here's one from her old set. She's going to be helping me a lot in the painting of my army, probably.
This may be of some help then... http://www.lustria-online.com/threads/ye-olde-interactive-saurus-painter.4555/
Progression picture update! I scraped all the pieces clean of spare plastic and started gluing. Got Saurus warrior's lower bodies glued together, all the knight legs glued together, and some misc. pieces done before I had to stop for the night. Hoping to finish up gluing today or tomorrow and be ready to start painting this weekend! Got paint schemes in mind. Still need to unbox and work on saurus guard set, ran out of primer when I initially was spraying these down. Will also be priming my girlfriends dryad set so she can start on her army as well.
I had to cancel it because my gf got mad at me. Since she's doing a lot of the painting, she doesn't want to get overwhelmed.
Thanks! I'm super excited. I didn't get almost anything done yesterday, had some emergencies so couldn't get another can of primer or anything. Hopefully I can stop by today and get it and work some more. Might leave work early to do it!
Thanks! We have a pool table with a pool table style light that hangs way down from the ceiling and is RIGHT over it so It was the perfect place to just throw down a board and go to work! Probably will be our game surface table too with a bigger piece of wood.
Saw the picture, and thought: how lucky can one be, to already have a pool table at hand, when starting a tabletop hobby?! Can we expect some cool terrain pieces later on? According to what I read in the gaming section, terrain is also quite essential for the gaming experience.
Oh yes. After I figure out a paint scheme and put my units on their stands I'm going to put a lot of effort into making them as bad ass as possible. To be honest my girlfriend and I are almost more interested in the model / creation aspect than the playing aspect. That Carnisaur is going to have shiny blood for the blood god dripping, god damn it.
Friday was busy celebrating someone's birthday, spent all day today going to the warhammer store, UPS, and fixing my fence. Since we got primer we primed my girlfriends Dryad army and she's kind of working on it. I primed my saurus guard and have been gluing a lot of pieces together. Most heads are on and then gonna help gf / start thinking more on paint schemes. Will have pictures soon!
Girlfriends army all primed, she's working on gluing them all together. Has her paint scheme in mind and everything.
Here's mine so far. Primed, Saurus guards on bottom left, start collecting set at the top and little skink star priest in the bottom right. I'm thinking of making their back scales red, their under bellies black with gray highlights or fleshy tan with red shields. Raptors will be black with red scales or stripes.
