I understand entirely what you mean - I can't find any model that seems to 'fit' right, and as such I'm going to wait until Mantic get their arses into gear and release some of their own! As with anything Mantic you can use any model you want, and the stats definitely seem appropriate for what the gore gruntas look like. I'm in no hurry though - I have an entire Brotherhood army I need to deal with!
I've still got 40 ghouls to paint a regiment of werewolf's and several other projects, vampire on zombie dragon coming out of a crypt for one.
well, i got 5 almost done. removing the orcs that were apart of the body, then puttying the saddle area was a pain but pretty easy. I used temple guard, widened the stance by adding putty to the hips, and they fit on pretty well. ill post up pictures in the next few days.
That looks so awesome! Serious business there! I love how that bright green darkens to a turquoise. Expertly blended it looks amazing.
Schleich makes two Pentaceratopses: Is the bottom one intended to be a calf? I recently discovered that I have that red one. It is huge. Comparable to one of those Ogre Kingdom Thunda-tusker-Mammoth things. It might make a good stand in for Zlaaq, Mazdamundi's ride.
They have small pendants for nearly all the big dinos... Don't think the small ones are meant to be calfs... It's a different product line... But the good thing is there are also a small triceratops and a styracosaur... If they fit similarly well it's a good way to get some variety into a unit by using them, too
I might have a plan... ...thanks to online retailer Troll & Toad (who might be sold out at this point).
How deep should the unit be? Stegs and Badtilodons are going to be 50x100 each ... wrong / awkward footprint?
