I can only try to guess a reason.
A (old) box of 10 skellies comes at £ 15.50.
Knowing GW, a box of 20 would be £ 31.00

Who wants to buy 20 warriors, will just pick 2 boxes, while a single box of 10 skeletons is still good for anyone that already got plenty of them, and just need to replace some broken model

Very reminiscent of those GW online store "one click" bundles that saved you exactly $0.00. Although they have been doing much better of late, the start collecting boxes are all fantastic.

We did get an actual nice price reduction when our models were updated for AoS, The saurus became 20 from 16 with no price change whatsoever (at least in €, and if I remember well), temple guards also got a model count change (from 10 to 15) with a positive price change (the price still changed but the cost per model decreased), and cold ones got 1€ cheaper :p:joyful:

They also reduced the price per model of a few Stormcast units with their repackaging. Judicators and Liberators if i recall correctly.

Or not. Remember the Chaos Knights, both Juggernauts, basic and winged Sigmarine infantry, Jorgik's examples, and some other reboxes.

I've seen a lot of speculation that its the cover art for the Xeno's codex.
