You are incorrect good sir. If it had no budget, it would not have been made. That is an improvement. No movie > Last Airbender Movie
Eh you guys are just spoiled. go back and look at the 80's special effects and bad acting for lower budget movies.
The Superman movies (by which I mean the first two) were significantly better than The Last Airbender. The Last Airbender movie took a beloved cartoon series, brutally sodomized it against it's will, filmed it and then distributed it for mass consumption.
Either way, The Last Airbender is a horrible abomination of a movie. Which is why the planned trilogy was scrapped very quickly after its release. It completely missed the mark and was unable to recapture any of the the cartoon series' charm, wit, character development, interest or intrigue. They couldn't even get the character names right. That is equivalent to a student who gets every question on a test wrong and they spell their own name incorrectly.
The Super Mario Bros movie was pretty terrible. But it didn't start out as a mario bros movie, a different script was adapted to make it into a sort of Mario bros movie. It was horrendous.
At least the avatar move take place in the right universe, the characters look roughly the same, heck they even copy the anime scene for scene a couple of times. and the plot is pretty much the same as the anime, and the effects hold up pretty well. So mostly it comes down to mediocre directing and average casting.
pacing is horrible the character's are completely bland the humour of the original series is completely missing it does little to create any sort of audience interest What is good about this movie? Is everyone who reviles it completely wrong? Why was it scrapped? Ultimately the movie does nothing right. It would be a huge disappointment if it wasn't so forgettable! You might be able name a few odd movies that are worse (Batman & Robin for instance), but The Last Airbender has permanent spot in the rubbish bin of the movie history. And like I stated earlier, they couldn't even get the names right!
That is true, but the cause of it's lack of profitability is the fact that the movie stinks. So in the end, it comes down to the poor quality of the film.
Nobody was disputing that it was a bad movie, it was, just that it could have been worse. It legitimately could have been worse.
Nice try. Only better, if by better you mean simpler. If you're interested in a complex tactical experience then definitely not... Chess > WFB > 40K > AoS = Snakes & Ladders
Budget-schmudget. Have you seen Kung-Fury? Brillinat script, original plot and realistic characters more than compensate for the budget and 80s special effects. It could be the perfect film.
