I liken AoS movement to that of 40k. I've played 40k and it's movement is simplistic in comparison to WFB. Comparing the first and last edition of a game system with as many iterations as WFB is going to give you a fairly stark contrast. However, the step by step progression from one consecutive edition to the next gives you a completely different story. There are obvious differences but they are still the same base game. AoS it not the next edition of WFB, it is GWs new game. You keep that filth to yourself . It is far too different of a game, for better or worse (I believe for worse, you believe for better). It is not "9th edition". The mechanics differ too greatly. The fluff and setting are completely different. As to why it carries the Warhammer moniker, GW is taking advantage of brand recognition. Simple marketing.
