@Lord-Marcus Just curious... do you own this one? I'd love to see the entire pattern. I'm thinking of picking it up. Are the shipping rates reasonable from GSW? (obviously they will vary depending on one's location)
depending on your location, yea. as to if i have it....not yet. need some sales then i am planning on picking up the remainder of the series i don't have
Then again, you could save yourself hassle and buy finished pieces from me. Or specialty one off things. I don't charge much for those either really
I'm interested in getting it to build terrain. Which means I'll need to be able to make patterns and specific sizes on the spot. Your prices are definitely fantastic. In the long run, requiring custom pieces of unknown size and not knowing ahead of time what and how many I will need, shipping would really begin to add up.
Good point. My latest order was two horde bases from kings of war that the guy is going to use as a terrain piece
It would be a different story if I knew exactly what I needed and how much of it because then I could place a singular order for the lot. But since I will need pieces on the fly as I think up and design things, it wouldn't be ideal.
I think the marines look pretty rad as they are, but unwashed gold always looks so fake to me. I really like using reikland or other red washes cause it gives the gold a nice warm tone as well as does all the shading work for you. Defs can't wait to see more of these guys in the future
Loving the Ultras! I never really understood the vitriol some people have towards them, they really are a stunning army on the tabletop. Gold edging is more of a 30k thing. In 40k the trim of their armour denotes which company they belong to: 1st Company (Veterans): Silver according to the Codex Astartes, but Ultras tend to use Gold in all the art I see for their 1st Company 2nd Company (Battle Co.): Gold, but could be silver given that Ultras use gold on their 1st Co. 3rd Company (Battle Co.): Red 4th Company (Battle Co.): Green 5th Company (Battle Co.): Black 6th Company (Reserve Co.): Yellow 7th Company (Reserve Co.): Magenta/Purple 8th Company (Reserve Co.): Grey 9th Company (Reserve Co.): Blue Helmet colour can also denote rank. Red: Sergeant Red and White: Veteran Sergeant Pure White: Veteran There are pretty common exceptions to the rules, and squads from different companies often work together on the field so go nuts!
