I agree they are very nasty! Probably the best way would be a cheap skink screen although this gets harder as they can deep strike anywhere. If you can screen then pile in after skinks are dead/ retreated then maybe you would be able to take them. Hmmm
Interestingly enough if you take a unit of 4 sallies or 4 razordons in thunderquake with a gryph hound and an Astrolith bearer you potentially can do some very decent damage to deep striking Retributors. Salamanders @-2 rend
I am building Stegadon oriented lists these days. I 'll work with this -3 rend * 1 stega, not spam * with some combinations and let you know how it went !
Haha, yeah that would be too awesome. I still think they should get a 5+ save or so against mortal wounds to keep the defensive theme.
I'm so impressed with my first teleporting stega usage haha. Charging two Dracothian guard that were getting 2+ save in terrain cover rerolling ones. He had a very smug look on his face... Until my stega instantly appeared in a flash, advancing d6 and hitting him on the nose with -3 rend. Took out one completely and damaged the second first combat phase. I almost felt like getting out my phone to play the Jurassic park theme song while wrecking him
Haha I wish I did now! But the thing was it wasn't a very fun battle for my opponent as he had around 400 points out of a 1k game stuck in the celestial realm so we called it after turn three when I held both objectives of knife to the heart and he couldn't win I'll do you guys a deal right! I promise to write up my next battle rep if you guys also do I've just finished my 8 salamander/razordon proxies ready for my next battle so I'm very keen to try them out! Sorry to hijack the thread to show my work but I'm just so excited... And it kinda does relate to the thunderquake battalion!
Oh wow, these are actually look good ! You got quite the skill with greenstuff dont ya ? I 'll have to train that as well at some point * trying to become better at painting so far and maybe do some basing *
Haha actually my first proper greenstuff attempt other than gap filling I feel though that doing repetitious stuff like this has definitely given me some more confidence to tackle bigger projects now! Have you got a painting thread here?
Get a painting blog started, does not matter if you can or can't paint I'm sure you will find it of use, just tracking your own progress is a great motivator.
@Paul Beenis looks great! looking forward to seeing them painted. I also grabbed on to the cold one- conversion, although with a slightly spikier touch (to make obvious Razordons). Almost done with a unit of four and will post pictures in the coming week once they are painted. What are those spikes on the back made of?
@Crowsfoot yeah I might start a blog for painting and converting hey! Great idea @Lizko very nice! Look forward to seeing them!! You're going to laugh... Fishing hooks (bought in cheap bulk packs of 20)
