Nice backstory for the Knight of Shrouds btw. He is indeed a "Death Stormcast" but different than we thought. He was to become one but didn't. I don't quite get if he refused or Nagash pulled him out (teehee old Sigmar, you won't get this one. ) but I think it is kinda cool. GW avoided the pitfall of just taking some SCE models and glueing skulls on them and paint them black. (looking at you 40K)
Oh and that background video (travellers guide) is GREAT. They should have released that two years ago.
Now watching the character insight videos. Also some good stuff there. ....finally some more lore, but I am still curious about the rules. The last time campaign supplement rules were released they were almost immediatley banned from all matched play because they utterly destroyed balance. I hope this ends up a bit better.
Quoting a guy from the TGA forums as I don't do Facebook: ############################### GW just said this on FB in response to a complaint about the lack of new models: Quote There's plenty more to show you soon, Oliver, don't worry. Malign Portents is the start of some exciting times for the Mortal Realms. Also: Quote Hey Matt, Malign Portents is lots of things - it's everything you said and more. It's a new narrative chapter for Warhammer Age of Sigmar. It's a campaign. It's new fiction. There will be books. There will be models. There will be changes to the shape of the Mortal Realms. You will not be disappointed. In this context, 'everything you said and more' refers to "A single battletome or a series of books? A Season of War campaign? A boxed set?" So it sounds like there's a lot to come. I'm really happy with this. A detailed lore refresh is really welcome, and I love the new art and tone. Excited to see what comes next. I can understand why competitive players would like something crunchier, but honestly my experience with AoS has only improved the further I've moved away from matched play. More stuff to plan narrative games with is exactly what I wanted. ##########################################
Also this: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2018/01/04/malign-portents-the-time-is-nighgw-homepage-post-1/ says: So not only narrative. Interesting.
I also like how they will be carrying the story forward with free stories to read on the website, next one scheduled 09.01.2017 which happens to be my birthday so I see it as a present! https://malignportents.com/stories/
Also it seems GW is sending out emails advertising Malign Portents for February 17th 2018 so that might be release (or at least preorder date) and I think we can expect some more small tidbits of info until then, because that's the way it was for other releases like the GHB2017 as well.
Maybe they will send you a free model or two as well! (they won't actually send you a free model, hahaha)
edit: never mind, for some reason the forum hadn't updated and didn't show me people had posted stuff...
The Warqueen has already vanquished her foes. The Sigmarine is protected by GW. The Knight Shroud is among its own kind. The Goblin is likely a shit disturber and brought this misfortune upon himself.
the warqueen has no fallen enemies around here though, she just randomly posses in the middle of nowhere. Idem with the stormcast. They look lost more than anything else
Yes she does... you can see all the skeletons at here feet. Since this Malign Portents is based on a death theme, it is logical to conclude that her enemies were undead/skeletons!
