theyre "allied" in so much that they band together to fight sigmar, sometimes... But outside of chaos undivided they just go for whatever their own goals are, fighting eachother constabtly for influence, and id imagine most battles involving 2 chaos armies and say sce are threeway engagements not 2v1. Tzeentch probably being the only "reliable" partner. Or at least irl take 300 years before khorne realized tzeentch backstabbed him once again and dient ally at all :p

hell even chaos undivided probably suffers from severe infighting apart from the archeons personal guard maybe...

So, that Archaon guy is... a champion of all Chaos Gods? His guys are the Chaos United Nations organization?

Yup, he's the self-appointed Champion of the four Chaos gods. He leads the mortal Chaos lads into battle... And did a bunch of stuff like killed the whole world.

meh, not so much the united nations as muc as Archeon just punched everyone that didn't want to follow him until people decided it was a bad lifechoice to oppose him.

Also, he got kicked in the balls by Grimgor (a really big orruk) and thus one of his grand chaos invasions was stopped.

In Storm of Chaos? I thought they retconned that entire incident.

I mean, I loved Storm of Chaos. I built my first WHFB army for it, a Grimgor's 'Ard Boyz list, and played it at the old LA Battle Bunker. I even had a model visible in the White Dwarf article on it, IIRC.

I can understand Goblins fighting alongside SCE, but SCE and Chaos allies? That is the biggest amount of ridiculous nonsense I have ever seen...

That would certainly be more in-line with lore...

That would also be in more in-line with lore. Either Order, Death and Destruction vs Chaos or Chaos, Death and Destruction vs Order.

    Agreed.

Nice - I would be able to get the Goblin on his own! :joyful: (If he isn't ridiculously expensive...)

So it's treason, then... (Ignites Lightsaber) :p

If the mighty @NIGHTBRINGER will not, I gladly will. I already have an idea for a Fyreslayers army in mind to bring true valour and heroism to the world. I could also use all my Lizardmen and Skaven and even using my Night Goblins would be plausible with the new Shaman model coming out.

Hiding from the true enemy will not work. To cut the head off the snake, you have to fight it...

Also everybody who actually tried it will notice that - while AoS isn't and doesn't want to be the old beloved WHFB - you can have a good amount of fun playing it with friends or even strangers. I think it really is worth trying.
EDIT: come to think about it, it is kind of like a new Star Wars movie being released: It might not become your favourite movie, but it is rather unlikely that you will downright hate it. :)

I do agree with you - I have played AoS with some of my fantasy minis and although it will never replace fantasy, AoS makes a nice game if you have small forces. Smaller armies would fight in a way more similar to AoS, while larger armies would fight more in the style of Warhammer Fantasy.

I'm so tempted to start Fyreslayers...

The new Malign Portents stories that are dripping out are very interesting to me, I like that they're paying some attention and starting to flesh it out.

    Ignites purple lightsaber!

I highly doubt that everyone who tried it found it to be fun. A lot of people who tried it, moved on to other games or quit the hobby all together. Some people love it while others do not.

That is an interesting analogy you chose to make. I think it illustrates the exact opposite viewpoint to the one you are trying to establish. It better serves to support my point of view. Although I like the new Star Wars movie, it has received a HUGE amount of hate (even more than Episodes I & II).

The first number represents the critics review and the second the fans' rating...

You do realise that Rotten tomato's ratings cannot really be trusted? There have been multiple times where people just go and make multiple bad or good reviews just to screw with results / make their own opinion win / troll people. You can't really use the ''tomatometer'' in any plausible argument i'm afraid.

Starwars is one of the worst examples of this... there's a very vocal core group that moans whenever anything is done with it.. especially if it involves anything actually present in the Original triology (most of the videogames are "fine" simply cuz they don't involve say luke). And the moment one of their heroes gets presented in a minutely different way they'l bring out tar and feathers. It's ridiculous...

That, and they're also the type of people willing to leave multiple fake reviews just to see a project burn down...

It is admittedly a far from perfect metric, but when it comes to movie popularity there are no perfect sources. If it was standing alone and in opposition to the remaining evidence then I would accept your argument. However, there is obvious backlash against the movie across multiple mediums/channels. Take your pick of social media, YouTube, etc., and you will find the same story playing out. The counter argument of the "vocal minority" only goes so far. When there is this much smoke, there must be fire.

I enjoyed the movie (despite a few very glaring flaws), but I am not naive to the negative opinions that surround the movie.

That is ultimately the problem with any beloved franchise. People take "ownership" of it and have an emotionally vested interest in it. They have a vision for it, and when new material is introduced that contradicts that vision, there is inevitable backlash.

It's a difficult if not impossible tightrope to walk. How do balance the opposing forces of remaining true to the source material and at the same time keeping things fresh/new?

There are no doubt, but 175,000 votes is pretty substantial, especially when supported by a multitude of other sources. I don't think I'm off the mark when I say that many people hated the movie. At the same time, many people really enjoyed the movie. My point is that the feelings regarding the movie are anything but uniform, it is controversial to say the least.

I was not in any way trying to defend TLJ movie, as there is obvious backlash. This was more an argument against Rotten Tomatoes and internet movie ''critics'' and ratings in general. We cannot deduce anything from those, even though they ''seem'' to represent what you feel is the majority of people, wether it's people liking or disliking.

Also, the debate about which side is the ''vocal minority'' is very futile and irrelevant. Some people liked it and some people didn't, as with anything ever created, but it being a Star Wars movie sure blew this whole thing out of proportion.

I could not agree more. It is just saddenning seeing people try to burn down a movie so hard when others enjoyed it. People criticising each other over social medias is so pointless.
