Blog Chicken Lips Warhammer Armies

Thanks, Warden! Yeah, after seeing all those Snotlings horded up like that, I too have pondered making a horde of Jungle Swarms! It just seems fitting! Lol!

And that just might be a great method of testing out my Blue Stuff! Copy and paste Jungle Swarms!

I finished another unit of 20 Skeletons! These are actually going to a friend over on EEFL. We are going to do a big trade and these will be part of what's going to him.

They look great, bloody hell how fast are you churning them out!!

Great work on the skeletons! What are you getting in return for the trade?

Lol, well....it keeps growing. GMW keeps sending me pics of something else he found that I might like and he isn't going to use.

Basically, I paint up and send him finished models (like the ones above) and he sends me unfinished models that will swell my ranks. About 2 to 1.

I bought and painted the Terrorgheist with Ghoul King for him, these 20 Skeleton warriors (these were 20 that I pulled from my stockpile to go ahead and paint for him, but he's sending me 20 Skeletons that are unpainted.), I'll paint 3 Skeleton Chariots (that I already have - to be replaced with some of his unpainted models), and he's sending me a bunch of models (mostly from Silver Tower) to paint for him as well as 10 Chaos Dwars with fireglaves. Lots of painting. All-in-all, I'll be painting around 45 models.

He's sending me 91 models (not including the replacement Skeletons and Chariots), all unpainted. (Well, one of them is painted, but it's a 40K DE model that I'll give to a friend of mine who plays 40K DE.) Around 50 of them are Empire Regimental Troops. (Lots of Spearmen, Archers and Handgunners) 10 Empire Knights, 8 DE Cold One Knights, Dwarf Flame Cannon, Dwarf Bolt Thrower, Empire Cannon, Skaven Ratling Gun, 5 Ellyrian Reavers, the HE caster from IoB, 10 OOP Longbeards. I think that's pretty much it. I might be leaving something out.

It's a good haul, either way, and I enjoy painting things I probably wouldn't ever paint otherwise. It's a lot of work and will take a good bit of time, but neither of us is in a hurry.

You go something you want to trade for some of that fabulous scenery? Or something you want painted? :D

I finished the Standard Bearer for my unit of Teutogen Guard. These guys are going to take me forever because I want to do them right this time! That makes 2 down and 38 to go!

I still have to write names, etc. on the "scroll" portions of the banner, but that won't take very long.

Looks Great!

Well, I just received the first of the two sets of ColorShift Paints from Green Stuff World. I decided to try them out on this unit of Chameleon Skinks. I've had this squad for years and have never painted them up because I was never satisfied with any color scheme that I thought about or saw in my research. I think that this works though! I used the paint that shifts from Green to Brown. It's subtle and transitions depending on the lighting and angle of the model. I'll better be able to tell how I like it once I finish off all the details. I did these using a brush instead of my air brush. Sorry about the poor pic, a video will probably show the effect better. Let me know what you think!

While I do like the color I think right now they look a bit too much like statues becasue they are fully covered with that paint.
So I can't really tell if they will look cool when finished. Go ahead and paint the details on one and then make a video. :)

Yeah, I just wanted to give an initial idea about what it looks like with a quick brushing. These paints do however, need to be applied on a dark primer or base. They don't stand out very well otherwise. I'll try to finish at least one off quickly and show you guys!

Yeah me too. And I wonder: Can you paint over those colors without problems? What about drybrushing to highlight or shading to darken the crevices a bit? Does that work?

Yup, see my blog... The plaguedrones, I have washed the wings with nuln oil and applied highlights. Dry brush would work as well (might use dry brush next time)
