Ok there were some leaks of Death Warscrolls. I am.....confused to be honest. At least at first glance it looks like a massive nerf for my Deathrattle army. - Regeneration banners gone - Wight King Infernal Standard gone - Focus seems to be shifting toward heroes but then heroes are easily snipeable... Maybe the will make up for it with AWESOME allegiance abilities, like all death heroes can transfer wounds to near units like the Necromancer can, something like that. I sure hope so.
It appears that all the Nighthaunt models will have their "ignore rend" ability replaced by the one that the KoS has. I guess it's too remove some of their insane survivability.
With so many mortal wounds flying around I don't see how their survivability was too high. Yes it was high but only against armies that weren't top tier anyway. There are no Death players in most tournaments for a reason. Death needs a buff not a nerf. One main reason why my Death army can win against my friend's SCE is that the Wight King Standard + Allegiance stuff gives my Skeletons a 5+/6+/6+ save against wounds and a 6+/6+ save against mortal wounds. The other reason is that we houseruled shooting (not true Line of Sight so a Wight King or Necromancer can hide behind Skeletons) otherwise the Knight Venator would just snipe the General in turn 1 and that's it. But there are some promising things in the leak as well so probably it won't be too bad. We have to wait for bataillons and allegiance abilities and traits, they might add some great stuff.
Oh dear. If I read that correctly the Necromancer loses his ability to transfer mortal wounds to nearby Skeletons or Zombies....
Buffs over there, nerfs over here, all in all I like when they update warscrolls, it means they've put thought into each one. We can't really speculate on these alot without knowing the full extent of the new allegiance abilities in the battletome, so I guess we'll have to wait and see.
Yeah maybe I am too negative because it mainly seems to be nerfs for my list I play right now, but in the end it might turn out well.
I hope the Giant Undead Snake is not only fluff but a future model. I also liked the mortal archers fighting alongside Skeleton Guard (I assume) protecting them.
Oh and judging by the Warscroll of the Malign Portents Stormcast engineer dude I predict that the next Stormcast chamber to be opened will give them artillery units. Because that's what we obviously need in the game.
Biggest change I see is that summoning has been replaced with a healing ability. I can see this becoming an across the board solution to summoning in general, we'll see if they apply this to daemons and seraphon.
