This is me! I was at a reenacting event. My outfit is one from the 1700s, and is what a mountain man might have worn. I might not be that shredded, but I ain't THAT Ugly! @n810 !
I am a member of FCF (Or Frontiersman Camping Fellowship) we are a group of Christian reenactors and our personas are range from the early 1700s to the 1820s. My persona will be that of a sailor, and I have been doing research to figure out what they wear.
Sailor or marine? and I don't mean US marines but the standard military term for a complement of soldiers billeted as ships defense. I can help with the latter. My capstone paper was on uniforms from 1700-1900.
I have only just started working on it. I think I might go with Sailors. They have a lot more leeway historically. They wore Everything!
I might as well introduce myself formally on here as many others before me have done. I won’t be putting up an image of myself (I’m far too shy and security conscious) but I’ll inform you of more about who I am: I’m a 19-year old Celtic Pagan from sunny Hampshire, England, whose favourite hobbies include playing tennis, cricket and golf, watching Star Wars, Middle Earth and Star Trek, playing PC Games, reading fantasy and sci-fi novels, writing my own fantasy novel series, writing Star Wars fanfictions and of course playing Warhammer, which I’ve been doing since I was 10 when I got my first box of Dwarf Warriors and then the Battle of Skull Pass box shortly afterwards. Armies: Fantasy: Dwarfs, Lizardmen and Skaven (started in that order) 40K: Tyranids, Necrons, Chaos Space Marines and Ultramarines 5th Company Middle Earth Strategy Battle Game (original pre-Feb 2012 format army selection rules): Erebor Dwarves I mostly play with my dad who has Greenskins of all stripes and also High Elves for fantasy and DE for 40K, as my local GW is pretty small and can get very congested when an event is on. I did play in some fantasy events in the past as they were less busy, but that’s all in the past now. I don’t know how busy AoS events are but 40K ones I know are incredibly popular so I don’t go to those as I would rather not like to be squashed up with a load of other 40K players trying to reach my units on the board. Other projects I’m considering starting at some point: Genestealer Cults (40K), Tomb Kings using Mantic Empire of Dust (Fantasy), Fyreslayers (AoS) As you can see I have a lot of stuff! Like Smaug, I am a natural hoarder!
I knew there were clubs for historical fencing... didn't know there were also clubs for historical feasting...
