To be honest, it's more interesting than chaos' "Imma do horrible things to you cuz I'm evil and there's no possible way to convince me otherwise". At least this way you can get some faustian deals between mortal enemies to take down a more powerfull threat and the like.
I would rather like it if, later on, we get a bit of a twist, where the Stormcast perform some sort of act for the purpose of stopping Chaos at the behest of Sigmar, that leads them into a moral dilemma, or crisis of faith, with regards to whether what they're doing is really "Good", or if all they're doing is trying to stop Chaos at any cost, i.e. "The ends justify the means", and going all Ozymandias. They're already starting to become colder and less human, with all this reforging business. I mean, it probably wouldn't devolve into anything more serious then a splinter faction of Stormcast Eternals or some such, so they can sell more models, but the idea is interesting. I always thought of Chaos as two sides of the same coin. Currently, the Chaos gods have become twisted and cruel, due to the constant conflict taking place everywhere, all the time, but I also think there was potential for good as well. The Warp, after all, is where the thoughts of all sapient creatures are given form, which implies that the good emotions and values have to collect somewhere. I'd always thought that the Chaos Gods eviler traits were just much more dominant then their better traits, due to the near constant wars perpetuated, in part, by the Chaos Gods themselves.
So are you suggesting that they should release even more Stormcast? Similar to the different Space Marine chapters in 40k?
Meh, they lack the differing personalities of the various chapters. Maybe if you'd limit space marines to just To be honest I never understood why they focussed so much on chaos pure evil aspect, there's so much room for grey-ish characters. Or at least for oppertunistic alliances and chaos followers actually building up an empire similar to how Sylvanas isn't just populated by corpses but actually needs some humans to function...
Bleh, no. I'm just saying, if they took it down a route like that, interesting a path as that would be from a story perspective, we'd probably still be seeing new Stormcast splinter faction models. Even if they've been getting better about it lately, GW gotta GW. Still, would find the idea interesting. As much as I love fantasy, there wasn't a great deal of moral quandary within it. The Empire was good, period. Chaos was evil, period. Would be interesting if the main "Good" faction of AoS started to stray from the basis of their moral compass for the purpose of stopping Chaos at all costs, and having a moral dilemma when one of them realized this.
I wouldn't be. The more Stormcast are released, the less love the other, not poster boy factions get.
I want more Seraphon but .. oh well I fear they overdo it with the starmaster thingy. I just want my aztec lizardmen but with better sculpts and more options
