Given their martial and magical prowess a small population would still be relativly stable. Not to mention that they could have developed a symboitic relationship with another race. Something similar to the relationship between orks and goblins in fantasy. One "race" being the natural leaders the other fullfilling the role of workers. Hell given how "broken" their thralls are they have effectivly settled on that sort of society anyway, just with adde sacrificial murder.
New story is up! Hints at Stormcast wizards and the whole ''something is wrong with the reforging process'' ! Like it!
Yeah, I really like it too. It show us that Sigmar is not so great and awesome, that he is cruel too.
Well, for a while we've known that the reforging process slowly takes away what is left of the humanity of the Stormcasts, slowly turning them into emotionless automatons. It has been theorized for a while that it was Nagash trying to harvest the souls that was taking little bits here and there but it seems that the reforging process might just have its limits, souls seeing the horrors of war and such can't bear fighting life after life.
But, but, it means GW gets more excuses to release Sigmarines! What about the Fyreslayers update that I'm waiting for? Well put good sir!
**We knew that already: The bases are round The faces are gold They are oversized/out of scale (1) They look like Spess Marinzze (2) Notes: 1) ...it’s not that bits of the souls are missing, it’s just too much hulking body for the original soul. 2) ...wrong template!! 3) ...don’t take my word for it, ask @NIGHTBRINGER
I really like this story, probaly my favorite so far. We get some insight into how a reforging actually works and it explores the darker sides of Order. What would you do if your Lord took you away from your loved ones when they needed you the most? What would you do if you had been given a new life, only too die again and again? What would you if the people you had been robbed the chance too defend, was turned into mindless thralls that you had to strike down? I think it would mess a person up pretty Badly.
I was under the impression reforging mindwiped them and put in it's place unswerving loyalty to sigmar.....this darker side sounds like how the norse God's are acting in the new god of war
nah, it's just slowly breaking their mind as it's a harsh process. Each time there's just a lil bit less left of the Original guy that was forged. You have some examples in the various bits of fluff. For example I think one of the guys in the shadespire box has lost the ability to speak cuz of his constant reforging.
They don't seem to lose anything in terms of fighting abilities though. The best description seems to be that they become automatons who don't really. Possibly also become crueler/more violent.
