    Meh, I don't like how the spells are linked to the realms. Would've prefered if those had worked similar to the artifacts and you could choose for your wizard to come from realm X and thus know one of the specific spells, possibly even combining spells when you have multiple wizards..

    The extra effects are neat though.

    Seems that most armies have point reductions. Hopefully, we are among them.

    In out gaming group, we have been bullied by beastclaw riders for a long time... (basically til the change to the mechanic of halved wounds).
    I don't miss it.

    Points reduction means just that you can field more models and you have to buy them.
    Don't fool ourselves... points reduction is not made for balance issues.

    And imo it's a step in the wrong direction, cause it bring us to the old times, when entering the hobby required a solid investment of money.

    Indeed, but what about some more future models? What if we are somewhere not so far on the horizon? Maybe like half a year, or 9 months?)

    When talking about getting into the competitive side then yes, a point reduction means having to buy more stuff. However for just getting into the hobby to play against a friend it shouldn't really matter provided the ratio's stay the same. If a 1000 points is high enough a point value to build a functional army there's no reason to start at 2000 even if that's the standard for competitive play.

    the actual information these posts are giving somehow seems to be less and less...

    Talked about point reductions, 2 new artefacts (or was it command abilities? can't remember), how the Thundertusk shooting wouldn't be nerfed and they actually showed a new endless spell. I'd say that's pretty informative as far as Faction Focuses go.

    It adds little in so far as what to expect from the GHB. It's merely an article going "you know these 328974 artifacts we promised, here's 1 of em". I'd prefer a "this is a new mechanic and it's going to work roughly like this" or a "this faction has this very important aspect of em focussed/changed". Hence little truly new "information". Just more of what we already (kinda) know/expect.

    Also, isnt'the release-date soon?

    Pretty much what i thought after seeing that most armies will be getting point reductions and "free" summons, it's just a marketing ploy disguised as a balancing issue.

    I see it more as an opportunity for people too play lower point games, but i wouldn't dismiss the idea that GW would shoot themselves in the foot like they did with fantasy...

    More or less that. Friends wouldn't mind that much.

    Am i the only one concerned about the relatively small area of model that connects to the base is? Looks like it could be a major stress point.

    There are ways to fix that though.

    @NIGHTBRINGER the tomb kings will always be my main army. They even displaced my first love in the skaven ages ago.

    The skeleton/ghost warrior unit are called "chainraap hordes"

    The "skaven" wraiths are

    Glaivewraith Stalkers
    Nagash has a twisted sense of justice, and each member of the Nighthaunt is shaped to reflect their crimes in a previous life. The Glaivewraith Stalkers were those who hunted men for sport and pleasure – now, they still work as huntsmen, drifting slowly and unstoppably towards their quarry, pursuing them for months (or even years!) if they have to.

    The new guys who look like the old wraiths updated are called grimghast reapers and are apparently berzerk

    Night haunt also got a few character types, including a wizard!

    To be honest doesn't look worse than the vortex beneath the various tzaangor on discs. and the stuff on top seems relativly light so should be fine.

    I actually discussed these guys with my local GW manager and I was right about them not being Skaven. He said they are a type of hound, which explains their love for hunting.
