Blog Canas' armies

More tzaangor and a changeling snuck in as I got bored of painting tzaangor after tzaangor.

To be honest, they're not the worst to paint. It's just that nearly everything in a tzeentch army is a mutated bird person and for some inexplicable reason they're a freaking horde unit. Just so much tzaangor. I feel I haven't said tzaangor enough. Tzaangor.

I often feel the same about painting horde units. I have to stop and do something else in between.

Same, I try and reward myself after a grind of 20 mobs and paint something fun. I have 20 grots hanging over me that I really should get done.

Tzaangor are just kinda weird as a horde. They're much bigger than the usual horde models, and also significantly more powerfull. It feels kind of wrong in that aspect. At least paiting individual ones goes relativly quickly.

Did some more tzaangor, including the first banner. Only 39 more to go, I think.

Also it's the first time I tried painting a shape on it.. I can't say I've entirely succeeded.

Free hand is hard, it needs a lot of practice.
Don't give up! :)

Same here, but you can find ways to mitigate those problems and work around your limitations to a certain degree.
I was surprised to see how well it can work for myself, even though it is tedious.

I've never been able to draw a straight line with anything, it's depressing :p

Sketching the design out on paper helps as you get a feel for the design, break it down into simple shapes and make sure your paint is thin, you can also use a pencil and draw the design on the model but be very gentle you want faint lines.
