Now that we have all the rules, what realms are jumping out at you? Metal seems to have some nice artifacts. Give a guy fly and the ability to do d3 mortal wounds, -3 rend sword! Scar-vet cowboys are back!?
I think I made a thread about that when they were leaked last week There are some nice spells and artefacts. Chamon, Hysh and Aqshy have some of the cooler ones IIRC. EDIT: Uhh... I think for Artefacts it was actually Shyish and Ulgu that looked awesome. Doppelganger Cloak for example, or Sepulchral Plate.
Going hysh for the 5+ command refund, and realm of light seems like a good match for my rainbow paint scheme.
This one: http://www.lustria-online.com/threads/realm-specific-spells.21431/ Spells on first page, artefacts are on a later page.
Can't remember the name, but I'm trying out a list this week with a Thunderquake and I gave to my Engine of the Gods the Shyish artefact that gives him the Ethereal rule (Ignores modifiers on save rolls). With Savage being active most of the time, a 4+ rerollable save on this guy should make him pretty durable!
. But actually Seraphon are from high Azyr so they can never be from a realm, so for your army to be fluff accurate you can never use these or you're just waac try hard /sarcasm
Ulgu and Hysh are the two that strike me as the best. Ulgu: - Probably the best realm for combat. Doppelganger cloak on a monster is nutty. Crown of Betrayal -> Kill 1/3 of a horde unit. Doppelganger cloak -> Carnosaur can't be attacked in combat until it's attacked. Miasmatic blade -> -1 to be hit Blade of thirteen dominions -> units that suffer damage are at -1 to hit. Dimensional blade -> Rend -3. Sword of Judgement -> 6s to hit do d6 mortal wounds vs heroes/monsters Hysh: Aetherquartz Brooch -> More CP - really powerful in saurus lists. Lens of Refraction -> Negates d3 spell damage every time a spell deals damage to a unit within 6" of the bearer. - This is easily the strongest item in the game against Tzeentch armies and Kroak, and is pretty good vs most armies that use magic, especially with endless spells. Guardian's Coronet -> 4+ invul save vs everything for 1 round Blade of Symmetry -> +1 damage sword Gleaming Blade -> heal 1 wound every combat phase if damage is dealt. Luminary Rod -> 9" line of d3 mortal wounds
The great thing about AoS's background is that it's flexible enough to allow just about anything. Just like all Stormcast are from Azyr, you can fairly easily fluff your force out to be associated with any realm you like; that can simply be the realm your army fights in the most. For example, my Seraphon are from Aqshy, since they were summoned there in the Age of Chaos, but then their Slann was killed. They've remained there ever since, fighting against Chaos. I've posted their background here if you're interested in more: http://www.lustria-online.com/threads/the-guardians-of-cote-de-saur.21372/
Aqshy for me as I play on the khorne mat mostly. And I can play the prodigy when the firestarter rules get applied.
I'm really liking the look of the Ghyrstrike from Ghyran on a Sunblood, +1 to hit and +1 to wound so hitting and wounding on 2+ with 5+ hits causing D3 hits and 5+ to wound causing D3 damage, drop the Oldblood on Carno command ability for extra fun!
It is that (ah reading festival 1998...headliners). It’s only topped by the Percy Sledge classic, when a Slann loves a woman.
