wild speculation here, but i noticed a few days ago that the Seraphon Hardcover Battle tome has been removed from the GW store.... im hoping its a sign of an updated book!
Just checked, yes the book is gone (UK). Only the ebook's are left. Hmmmmmmm, I could question my local store when I have the time
The same thing has happened to Fyreslayers - it may be that at last we will get some more units, as while Seraphon need their Saurus to be more tanky and Killy, Fyreslayers have strong enough units as they are, but they need more diversity. In fact, it looks as though all pre-Sylvaneth Battletomes have been removed from the website, meaning that it’s likely that all those armies may well get new Battletomes apart from Stormcast, who already have theirs, and Khorne Bloodbound, who are now merged with the Khorne Daemons to form Blades of Khorne who have a post-Sylvaneth book. Whether these will be before Moonclan and Darkoath, after or mixed in between, it looks uncertain at the moment, but it is certainly good news. Certainly those armies can be divided into those who just need updated rules and some plastic updates of old fine cast minis (Seraphon, Flesh-Eater Courts) and those who need a bigger selection of models and updated rules (Fyreslayers, Bonesplitterz, Skaven Pestilens), in addition to those armies that exist and still don’t have tomes (Dispossessed, Gutbusters, Brayherd). I look forward to seeing what they do with these older armies anyway.
Certainly a most needed update. Let us hope we get a our update. And please GW stop releasing SE stuff
While the former may well happen what with the existing Battletome going missing (with perhaps some plastic Razordons and Salamanders and a plastic Slann), the latter certainly won’t happen. GW love Stormcast to bits as they’re fantasy Space Marines.
Hmmm, the Flesh Eater Courts book is still around. I have this deep feeling it could be just a small tidy up and rerelease. Removing the old rules, changing the warscrolls slightly that are part of the FaQ, adding the allegiance stuff. Maybe they heard my distant whine about it, how the old books need a bunch of papers and other books etc. Doesn't bother me if they are just updating, as said it just makes things much more organised. Edit: Yet the battletomes still exist on the App for buying
I am also sceptical about new minis and rules if it got released. I wait for new fluff, however, and updated warscrolls. I expect the next new minis are going for goblings along the Orks 40k release and GorkaMorka. Next probably will be Chaos Barbarians with end of the year chaos release. Fortunately, Seraphon have one of the widest unit ranges in game already, so just update would be fine. A small hope still that they give us our own lore at last.
I agree. Fingers crossed that if they release a new Battletome for us it will at least: - contain updated warscrolls for all the units and bataillons we have now, not omitting some - contain more lore - contain all of our current, errata'd rules, like our allegiance abilites and artefacts And of course I would love to see - our own spell lore and/or prayers for priests, and/or traits for mounts - an additional unit or two (but please not like the Bloodseeker Palanquin or Prince Vhordrai, such "new units" are lame). - cool faction-specific endless spells
If it can help, it's no more available also in the italian version. And i'm willing to bet it's the same for other countries as well...
Yep, same in German. The eBook version is still there, but the printed one is not in the shop anymore.
And just like Space Marines, SE sell quite well, so I don't expect them to stop producing stuff for them either. And that may be ticket to an update too, since Seraphon seem to be selling quite well too.
Well came back from the local GW store, the manager said things like this usually means they are being transferred to paperback.
Well I do have my apologies for bringing the possible news, I want updates also. Unless the manager is lying in a way, who knows
Ugh, how disgusting. I hate it when they transfer books from hardback to paperback, they did it with 7th Edition 40K too, and I was hoping they had stopped all this rubbish in AoS.
I just hope they are doing more than just a transfer, not sure how hard it is just to tweak a few rules here and there. The joys of asking local store managers.
