That's an important part I am missing in the store and why I prefer playing at my house with my friend. While playing AoS we drink half a crate of beer, talk crap, and eat enough calories they would suffice for three days. That's our Friday night.
I would kill for that, I have to travel an hour to my LGS. granted my LGS is wicked good, with a very helpful community and players ranging in skill from "whats a d6" to "I placed in grand tournaments" we run tournaments and escalation leagues almost continually, and there are other games there as well (dnd, magic, 40K,). we actually have some disabled and autistic kids that come in and play DND once a week and the regulars often pitch in to help and play with them.
All I have is the local GW :/ About three regulars that play 40k (I’m not too interested in that) and the two salesmen that work there...I buy more than enough, I don’t need help lol
Oh, those new dracolines would've been so good for razordons if they weren't push-fit. They even have a spiky mane. Darn you, push-fit! Ah well, they would've just made me regret my gryph-dons since... only a few of them are turning out well.
http://www.lustria-online.com/threads/razordon-conversion.21590/ I’m almost done painting the 6 Razordons I’ve converted.
I bought reaper hell hounds and added green stuff spikes and painted them...and then put them on the appropriate size bases. BOOM 4 dollar each razadons. now they arnet the best looking conversion but they look ok to me.
I have unfortunately had rather bad experiences with kickstarters, and although their models look amazing (like wtf GW buy them out and use their models amazing) on that website... I just cant bring myself to risk it. maybe if they sell them after they are kickstarted....
the hell hounds look ok imo but not the best. but for 12 dollars u.s. and 20 mins of crappy work.(I'm not a sculptor by any means) I think they look ok. I will try and post a picture later on
That’s why scratch builds are much better value (and it increases your overall green stuff talents) An easy way to start would be simply getting some wire and bend it into a shape you feel happy with (for an example I knocked one up for you lot) literally took 5 minutes (not my finest work, but the point was to show how easy it is. The next phase is simply flatten out some green stuff and coat the wire shape like skin (this does not have to be beat at all) just enough to form a basic shape. Third step is to add basic body shapes/tone is; leg/arm muscle tone, neck and head shape, tail shape and fins/spikes. Fourth and potentially final step - add fine detail - claws, skin wrinkles, scales, facial details (eyes mouth tongue etc) If anyone ever wants any help with ‘how to’ anything greenstuff/kit bashing etc - just ask, I’m always happy to provide step by step and will green stuff along side someone as a tutorial
Lol indeed - those project lists do get very long very quickly Currently I’m; Converting a carno/scar-vet Some chameleons Dread Saurian base Converted slaan Convert 3x salamanders and razors Convert skink priest with wings Convert Bastiladon Convert a second EoTG And it grows every day lol
