At this point, I'm not even sure we will get endless spells. GW is so focused on SCE and Nighthaunt right now with all the battletomes and new models.

Not to mention the new Kill Team, which I may take up with my tempestus scions. Something like this wouldn't likely be an immediate thing with their backlog.

Still, it'd be interesting to see.

Look at the endless spells from warherd, stuff like that could happen to us to. Something flavor love things with dinos. Stampede, earthquake, meteor, or maybe some more from the azthek history. Thats the fun part, could be everything

I've printed them all off and it's a pain cutting them out but once laminated they do look really good, I've done the Seraphon and Shyish so far

See I hope they do eventually do some specific endless spells for us. One could be “Sotek’s Jaws” Basicly a set of poisonous snake fangs that roam around the battle field biting targets. With a particular affinity (tast) for anything Chaos!!

Meh, I'd prefer if they'd avoid faction specific mechanics on spells/abilities. If something has a bonus against faction X it tends to mean it's kind of weak when not used against X which is Always slightly dissapointing even if it is flavorable.

All I am thinking is that like the “blazing Sun bolt” or the “summon star light” spell are very effective and have a bonus against Chaos daemons.

It would be something similar effective against all with a bonus of some sort wether it is more attacks or extra damage against chaos.

I know, I just Always find summon star light feels dissapointing when using against non-chaos, even if it isn't an objectivly bad spell. It doesn't so much feel as a neat bonus against chaos as much as it feels as punishment when facing anything other than chaos.

Then cheer up, giving -1 to hit while having the flexibility to cast it on friendly or enemy unit, is a hell of a good spell for casting value 5 :D

    Ok fair enough
Why not think more about the bastiadon’s Searing beam rend -1 damage 2, or 3 against chaos daemons

The thing is, the Bastiladon is great against non-Chaos. It's just slightly better against Chaos Daemons. They're a very common pickup for precisely that reason. Light of the Heavens on the other hand is a good example of a mediocre spell that gets a bit better against Chaos Daemons, but which still isn't particularly good even in that scenario.

meh, ultimatly I think that situational bonuses that you get against certain targets only work if you can reasonably expect to face a decent number of those in any given situation. If you're liable to face an army without any of the required targets it just feels like you're being punished as long as the bonus isn't so minor as to basicly be irrelevant.

    I disagree.
IMO Light of heaven is far from a bad spell, especially now that missile and shield have been nerfed.
When you pick a Starpriest for the serpent staff, it's really handy to have the possibility to cast a defensive buff to the unit you are going to send fighting

It's by no means a terrible spell, and can definitly save your butt. But due to the fact that you know it could do D3 damage on top of the debuff it feels bad when it doesn't do that D3 damage.

Also, it doesn't help that the starpriest does fairly little besides his one spellcast and his serpent staff. He just stands around looking pretty most of the time. Which makes the "loss" of the damage component very noticeable. Though that's more a general issue with the weaker wizards models...

    I disagree.

Now more than ever with 2nd edition, having a wizard that has an awesome signature spell, can now cast endless spells, and has a good ability on top of that, for 80 points? That's amazing.

There's a reason he finds it' way in most of the Seraphon lists. Very versatile wizard.
