Hi, I recently got started in AoS with Maggotkin and will get the Seraphon Battleforce soon. For transportation I want to magnetize all my minis. Before buying a case I would like to know how tall (in cm if possible) the tallest Seraphon model is. Is it the carnosaur or the Stegadon/Engine of the Gods with its banners? Thanks in advance for your help.
Technically it's the forgeworld model Dread Saurian, which is huge. If it's not that, then yes it's an Oldblood on Carnosaur which I measure mine to be 15cm tall.
Archaon is pretty big, but Nagash is also very tall. I am not sure how tall the Sorceress on Black Dragon is, but I think it is also quite tall.
Some folk who mess around with magnets will make parts of models detachable. Is that the plan here? Make the banners on the EotG or Carnosaur riders detachable and swappable?
@Aginor how tallllll is that Mortis Engyne that I think is on your workbench? It looked to be all about vertical in its pix. Those Arkanaught Frigates, how far up is the Dwarf lookout at the top of the bigger one?
Thanks everyone. I'm not sure how far I want to go with magnetizing but at the very least I'll magnetize all bases.
I haven't assembled the Mortis Engine yet, but I am pretty sure it will beat the Oldblood on Carno by several centimeters. I will measure it tonight but I am fairly sure it is over 20cm high. Those KO air ships are pretty huge. Also 20cm at least. I think. I don't own any though.
Sorry for double post, phone browser has problems editing sometimes. Magnetizing the EotG banners or similar stuff is super easy and has saved my model a number of times. I can only recommend it.
Second this! With the way the howdah thing sits on the back of the stegadon, it's really easy to magnetize the whole thing to his back.
The howdah itself doesn't need to be magnetized at all, it holds perfectly fine with just clipping it in (at least mine do)
Mine do as well, but sometimes it doesn't sit quite as snug as you'd like. How do you guys magnetize the banners? I'd be nervous about drilling into such small bits.
Just cut the pole, put two 2mm round magnets there that fit it together. Here is a pic of mine. Magnets are almost invisible. I posted more of it in my blog (link in my signature), starting with the last post on page 6. Overall my Steggy has 64 magnets.
