I used to drive such a little car (my wife had one, pretty much the model you see there, a "Smart fortwo"). It might look like a joke in the US (or anywhere else where space, even in cities, rarely is a problem) but it is a pretty cool thing to have in cities where there isn't much space. It is 2.5m long and can turn in a 6m circle. I never had problems finding a space to park, while a car like that truck it is loaded on.... well... it is a nightmare to drive such a thing in Germany because it fits...basically nowhere. Still funny to see the Smart parked on the big one.
That's the second best thing I've seen to prank your home's next owner. The best is to write GET OUT in blood red paint for whoever redoes your carpet. One useful trick I learned from backpacker camping (where you try to minimize weight anyway you can) is that you only really need a very tiny amount of toothpaste. The brush does most of the work.
