We'll we wont have any news until warhammer fest. Hoping Slaanesh stuff is out until there, so we can have new hopes and despairs ( Fireslayers will comes out in some weeks i think. )
Some nonsense about some dwarfs Very little actual information though. I do like that one of their endless spells appears to be sort of a unit.
"ALL of the core infantry of the Fyreslayers have been given an additional Wound on their profile!" Lets hope the Saurus will get a similar treatment
Thats a sick boost. And they also got offensive boosts. How are they gonna balance this in points? Probably they’ll have a powercreep again
Actually info Seems like a rather great update imho as long as they don't completly screw them over with point increases. If we get something similar that'd be awesome.
Mount traits! That's something I don't think we brought up as a cool addition to our Carnasours Hopefully at least Carnos get more rend, that is almost all I want. Plus Saururs love... and lots more .
I do hope that if we get them we get the effect of one of the lodges as well that allows all of our big stuff to have the trait. It seems fitting to be a general seraphon trait.
It really sounds pretty awesome, some nice ideas there. If Seraphon receive similar upgrades (especially the Saurus) I'll be very happy.
I'm hoping the Saurus Knights get a boost. Even making their points cheaper didn't help them at all. And the Kroxigor special needs to be completely reworked. It's one of the worst in the game
Been listening to the official Stormcast Age of Sigmar podcast and Seraphon got a callout by Nick Horth (a background writer) as the faction he most wants to see get brought up to speed with a new Battletome. The podcast was released on January 14th of this year, and he spoke as though nothing was currently in the works which is sad. (He could be hiding it though! ) At the very least, it's cool to have someone in the back end who wants to see us get our due. It was on Episode 3: Nick Horth at about 50 minutes in. EDIT: Actually I can just link it. http://stormcastpodcast.com/-episode-3-nick-horth
It seems like a boost at first, but the good GW giveth, and the good GW taketh away. The nude dwarves gained a wound but savvy Fyreslayers players have noted that the new ability allowing them to pile in and attack upon dying once per battle has the same name as an older ability - a 4+ FNP. Obviously speculation on whether the old ability has been canned is rife, but a battleline unit with two wounds, a rerollable 4+ and a 4++ does seem a little fishy. Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if Seraphon were hit with the same 'give with one hand, take with the other's treatment when / if we get an update.
I don't play the naked dwafs but I would take the new rules they showed over the old even with no 4+++.
I would say 2 wounds are better than any mortal wound save. With 2 wounds per model you only loose 1 model to D3 MW where as with 1 wound you could loose up to 3 models. There might be something I'm missing, but that's the way I look at it any way.
2 wounds is definitly more reliable than any mortal wound save and ultimatly probably more usefull in most situations as it means less if your stuff will be killed in one attack, less stuff dying at once also means weaker battleshocks & the extra wound also counts against normal damage of course. And on average a model with 1 wound and 4++ is equivalent to a model with 2 wounds. Both will on average need to be hit by 2 mortal wounds to be killed.
Also this Magmadroth formation and mount traits. I think we might have this kind of stuff too for carnosaur. A Big fckin hunting party with lots of big carno / trog.
The endless spells The erupting thing seems powerfull, and one of the few endless spells that remains under your own control (unless you're fighting another fyreslayer army I guess)
They’re certainly powerful in that they can all be summoned on 3+, so they’ be seeing action pretty frequently. The wall I see similar to the palisade as expected, but is always useful to Fyreslayer players as they are notably slower so need all the protection from shooty armies they can get. This one also allows Magmadroths to move through it without penalty, so leaving one of your own units near an enemy Fyrewall won’t necessarily guarantee you safety! The attack power of the firespitter and Infernoth don’t seem to be as strong as, say, the Khorne portcullis, but you can still get lucky on your dice rolls so could see up to 4 or 5 sixes potentially given you roll 12 dice, and of course that is counterbalanced by the fact they’ll be appearing a lot more regularly than the portcullis as that requires 5+ to summon so will be participating in the game far less regularly. Overall I’m pretty pleased with this upcoming update. The 2 wound buff I still certainly huge, as well as the buffs on Hearthguard and Hearthguard Berzerkers.
That's an interesting preview for Fyreslayers. I don't know how many people play Fyreslayers, so maybe GW is trying to give a boost to an "under-played" army? But, powercreep is the standard mechanic for GW, so it doesn't surprise me too much when it happens. This makes me wonder what GW might do with Seraphon, if/when they update them? It seems like Seraphon have strong casting when fielding a Slann. If GW really improves our combat/durability, would that unbalance things? I've checked my sprues, and on the GW site (as best as I can). It seems like Seraphon, and maybe Skaven have some of the oldest models. Skaven still has some metal minis. But, when I look at my Seraphon next to the newer armies, they feel kind of small. I still wonder (hope) that there's a big update coming for Seraphon. They might lose their pseudo-Aztec look, but they could get some cool new models.
Our slann currently barely casts at all as he mostly just summons. So I doubt it. Also, our other stuff being made better might help with actually reign in some of our abusive cases. Currently our only option for competitive events is to abuse the living hell out of whatever does work. If more stuff would actually work maybe we'd stop seeing nonsense like 4 EoTG's. We're relativly small, the saurus are at the same size of a regular human. Maybe a bit taller if they weren't hunched. And they got much thinner limbs. Also I doubt we'l look the aztec look, it's too established. If they wanted to drop that they should've dropped it with the end-times.
