(Estoy de acuerdo contigo mi querido IƱigo Montoya) I am agree with you that doesnt help and the fact we arent competitive because we arent one of the worst army thanks to invocation and we are still bad... i thnk 45% winrate and this thanks to the adepticon champion xD before him we have 40-42% winrate, similar to nighthaunt, iron jaws and some more. PD: Really Slann again temporarily unvailable??
Winrate is irrelevant for the health of a faction/unit/whatever unless you have massive outliers, too many factors beyond "balance" play into actually winning for it to provide much usefull information. So please don't ever use that as a measure of fitness.
I see a sort of trend in the building of Seraphon armies. The meta is evolving toward heavy and deadly cac: Khorne is fast and hits harder than us... and can summon Slaanesh is fast and hit harder than us (and for first)... and can summon FEC hits a lot harder than us (and can go first) Fyreslayers are tougher than us and can hit hard Gloomspite spam mortal wounds Skaven hit harder than us i can go on. (deepkin, daughters...) Then consider that (with the rules about striking first), we have less and less eligible targets for our classic hitters (rippers from shadowstrike, charging stegadons and similar). the evolution of the game is forcing us to play the things that can counter these kind of armies. Lots and lots of screening units, lots of saturation shooting, summoning, teleport... at least, we can use summon to pick the best unit at the moment for that task (for example, a troglodon to charge a reliable target... a farly trivial conjuring, available since turn 2) If things don't change, this is inevitable.
I'm thinking Seraphon will get some sort Clans/Stormhost/Allegiances for Skinks and Saurus. That's the direction GW is taking with new books and I like it. I play Blades of Khorne and mixed works well. Typically you choose the Allegiance that benefits the core of the army and then you bring a battalion that includes other types and lowers your drops. I'd love to see 2 wound Saurus infantry so we don't need to bring giant horde blocks because GW has also been moving towards "wholly within" buffs Of course it could all be different for Seraphon but based on the recent books I think we can expect: -Seraphon endless Spells -Seraphon Spellbook -2-3 Allegiances/Stormhosts -Changes to summoning -Big changes to rippers and other units with outdated rules/convoluted interactions (a lot of units lol) -Changes to Kroak (please!!!)
To be honest I do hope that they don't make our allegiances simply "skink" and "saurus". That seems far too split for us. Give us some mixed forces as well. Not to mention that there's synergies, especially from skink heroes effecting saurus heroes. A simple split would create weird results where for example a force of saurus has 1 random lost skink starpriest in it for his venom but who's otherwise just useless.
It's not too much to ask for to make Saurus Guard OP right? I think we can all agree they deserve their time in the sun
It would be great to see, but I wouldn't count on it. It looks as though GW are doing for AoS this year what they did with 40K last year - spam Battletomes for as many factions as possible and give all those who already have tomes the minimum. Of course in AoS we also have releases in the style of the Slaanesh release that could occur for other factions in the same boat, e.g. Dispossessed and Gutbusters, where the release still lasts only a week but the faction in question gets a bit more than just the bare minimum to cater for it having fewer units, as well as this supposed Darkoath release. But generally it looks as though all the factions with some existing tome support will get just a new tome, scenery and endless spells, while those still relying on the General's Handbook and PDFs at least have a chance of getting something else new, as Gloomspite and Slaanesh have.
Lol you can tell we need a new book because i didnt even realize that many modesl were resin only. My army is basically 3 units, Skinks, Razors (converted) and Rippers... Can't wait for the new tome to drop. I actually have faith in GW. I predict a lot of changes to Rippers. Biggest prediction is no bloat toad and then reworking their extra hits. I hope they dont nerf skinks. if they do want to nerf them, just increase their price a little.
I hope they keep blot toad. One of the more fun models to paint. I think Terradons need to be more consistent with their bombs though. Maybe a 3+ or a 2+ on the drop
Something I noticed since the release of the book, they show off the Skink Priest with the priestly trappings (the one with the bone staff) but you can't get that model though, one way is through the Stegadon kit. GW gives us back the Priestly Trappings Skink!
I also like the Blot toad's game mechanic, I hope it stays. As for the Terradons: I am not sure if they should just keep it the way it is (probably make it a tad more reliable) or make it weaker but let us use it more than once.
Model-wise, i am a huge fan of the terradons over the rippers, so i am Greatly wishing for terradon buffs. Or i might just build the ripper with the terradon heads, but ripper tail and feet.
Meh, the toad-mechanic is far too limited and predictable. If nothing else I want to swarm the enemy with toads so at least the opponent has to guess where I'm going to land. Instead of the giant marker screaming "my rippers are going here" it currently is..
