Yeah the AoS boxed sets have been selling out fast, lack of supply or unexpected demand I'm not sure :p This is why I'm telling you guys yield early yield often.... Thats probably why i have bought.... the necromunda box set, the rogue trader one, blackstone fortress, the seraphone battle force .... and maybe tooth and claw..... I have a model excess problem but not a temptation problem.....

Anyone know what the worm-thing in the background of this photo? This is off the GW website.

    sylvaneth thing in background.png

Looks like a giant, armored blue worm creature. Never seen the model before.

I imagine he'll be While Stocks Last - and probably just as well because he'd wreck anything currently existing in the game with just 1% of his squirrel power.

Also I can certainly see why they're bringing in that new forest terrain - because the trees form a circle, it'll make it much easier to put your units inside the wood's borders without breaking anything...

Yeah, I built three of the old woods and while they look cool, it is almost impossible to move models through them without breaking something.
And they are a nightmare to transport.

I really don't like the old GW trees, these look much better, even if their base looks weird.

Btw, I just realized the Arch-Revenant is a bit smaller than I thought.
Still a nice model, looking forward to painting it.

a 100 points for the arch revenant does seem rather extremely cheap @Aginor ...

To be fair, though, a Grimwrath Berzerker costs the same and he can devastate entire enemy units by himself.

    It does!

But they posted a list that is 1880 points, and adding together the point costs of the other units I reach 1680 points, leaving only the two Arch-Revenants.

So unless they reduced the point costs for the other units that means the Arch-Revenants are 100 points each.

    well I wasn't saying he wasn't cheap too :p

to be honest a lot of heroes feel fairly underprized, especially the combat focussed ones. They can easily take out multiple units on their own over the course of a game and most heroes also have some supportive abilities to function as a powermyltiplier for nearby friendly units. A 100 point hero is simply easily worth 200-300 points worth of normal units, especially in the newer armies. which feels rather weird at times. And it feels even worse with some of the properly big heroes mounted on monsters who can take down entire armies on their own if used well and with a bit of luck.

Yeah. Imagine the Eternity Warden was only 100 points. Or the Oldblood on foot. Or the Sunblood.

In fact the whole first series is going to be Space Marines unfortunately, but I'm interested to see if they do a Hormagaunt or Termagant for Tyranids (Blizzard made a Starcraft II Hydralisk figure, so it's possible), a Vulkite Berzerker for Fyreslayers and a Necron Warrior or Lychguard. Of course, those probably won't turn up until series 12 or something...

I'm also interested to see how many points of articulation these figures will have - I'm hoping that they'll be something like the Star Wars Black Series figures if they're going to be marketed to collectors who want to pose them in thematic stances like GW say on that Warhammer Community page. At least, I'm hoping they'll be like any action figure other than the Star Wars basic 5PoA figs - those are very poor for poseability.

Somehow, the Lord Castellant for Stormcasts is only 100 pts - he comes with a free Gryph Hound, makes shield Liberators nigh unkillable with his lantern and is pretty decent in combat too. Not that I’m complaining too much - he’s probably my joint favourite model with the Saurus Sunblood and Bastiladon (assuming he includes the Gryph Hound).

I thinks that’s probably fair enough - it is probably Games Workshops mascot of the moment. Not that that means that can’t include other, non Space Marine (or Stormcast for that matter) models in the line!
