sigh that's dissapointing… using the arcane vassal on a trog does rely to a considerably degree on combo-ing the various spells. That'd at the very least require some help from some skink priests.
All in all i like the new LoSaT ...of course, this further diminishes the utility of a Slann with vast intellect, as you don't need curse of fate to increase your chances to move after the teleport.
With Astolith and Vortex you won't need arcane vassal. +14" to range will make stellar tempest reach enemy territory turn 1.
Slann with vortex and astolith: stellar tempest skink starpriest: meteoric uhmm.. insteresting Another option with Great Remember: tp slann to enemy zone, 1 endless + 1 lore spell + basic spell and then tp again to base or the same with kroak and celestial deliverance
Betrayer's Crown. Once per battle, at the start of the combat phase, pick an enemy unit within 3" that has two or more models. Roll a die for each model in that unit. For each 5+, that unit suffers 1 mortal wound. From Malign Sorcery.
thanks, It's interesting but much more risky, plus it's 1 time per battle and 3 ', I prefer spell xD PS: another difficult year that is coming on us, it will be better to start planning better strategies to be a little competitive
Why give it to slann when you have Saurus heroes? I don't think, GHB turned anything upside down for us. In the end, we've got a bit better.
Yes, now we have spells (which is appreciated), but you have the doubt again invoke or spells, that is, there is some spell quite interesting and they can help you, but you have to see if it is worth launching and not invoking. Regarding the points, it is true that there are improvements (after eight months or so I will use saurus again)
(Sorry if I say anything I already said before) What I don’t like about the points decrease are their implications. It looks like they’re moving farther and farther away from being elite units. I’m sure anyone who has played Total War Warhammer 2 can see that the way they function in the game (and in the lore) is the complete opposite on tabletop(except for the skinks). Their campaigns are usually hard, not because the units are weaker than everyone else’s, but because you can only afford a smaller army in the early game and focus on quality to make up for it. Your starting enemies ARE usually more horde focused, but the ai usually spams armies too(cheaters). It really makes you feel challenged and is very rewarding once you overcome these things. Where was I...oh yeah. The new spells seem kind of redundant, especially the healing one. Our infantry wouldn’t benefit from it because they only have one wound anyway, and 1 wound isn’t much of a difference to monsters unless they have a damage table(which I think hinders the carnosaur a little too much anyway). Speaking of spells, I don’t like the the summoning mechanic. Slann are one of the most powerful wizards in the world, but not only is their unique spell redundant, but one of the few things you would use them for requires you to NOT cast spells! I hope the people who say these changes are to tide us over until the Battletome are true still wouldn’t stop me from using DINOSAWZ though
Point changes are done on what is present now, so we might still see a greater change in a new tome, but if that is months of yet, then cheaper saurus is what we got. I can see starpriests using some of the new spells, mostly the last one for pure damage and we might see more people running more than 1 of these guys moving forward. Great rememberer is still so universally useful and as the Slann does not get any innate plusses to cast spells, he is still most likely on conjuration duty. You can though with great rememberer be sure to teleport 2 units, so teleport your 40 saurus and an old blood on foot for our own Sureheart combo making charges far easier.
Well I am getting a generals handbook in a few days so I can update you guys on points and allegiance abilities when I get it.
short summary: we got a new spell lore & the point chances posted in a picture earlier. Beyond that everything's the same. There saved you clicking through a 1h video to find the little bit about seraphon
