Lord Kroak - General - Spell: Arcane Unforging Saurus Astrolith Bearer Skink Starpriest - Spell: Stellar Tempest Skink Starpriest - Spell: Meteoric Convocation Saurus Scar-Veteran on Carnosaur - Warspear - Artefact: Dimensional Blade Engine of the Gods 5 x Saurus Knights - Lances 5 x Saurus Knights - Lances 5 x Saurus Knights - Lances 6 x Terradon Riders - Sunleech Bolas Bastiladon (280) - Ark of Sotek Total: 1990 / 2000 Extra Command Points: 0 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 102 I wonder if MW spam became a possibility after we've got new spell lore. The idea after this list is to bring as many wortal wounds as possible. Stellar tempest will target hordes, Kroak and another Starpriest can snipe supporting characters. Carnosaur can get rid of heroes/behemots. Bastiladons, Knights and Terradons can take down anything that come too close. Astrolith is just a force multiplier. EotG is Eotg, nothing to add here. I'm not saying it is ultracompetitive or optimised, but can be fun especially against high-save armies. I wonder, what are your thoughts on mortal-wound heavy seraphon lists after new GHB?
I wouldn't exactly call it spam, at least not compared to armies that can really spam mortal wounds, but yeah IMO the new spells have the potential to help us against highly armored targets. I am thinking about lists like the SCE one I face regularly, with a 3+, rerollable 1s, save for what feels like the majority of the army, and a 2+ rerollable for some. Right now some of our lists just cannot beat those effectively. With the spells we might be able to snipe those heroes so the enemy army loses its buffs.
I am still in the middle of Theory crafting a DT Slann + Kroak list with Everblaze. It will be pretty mortal wound spamy.
I haven't looked at the new battleplans yet. One of the problems with Kroak lists is that they tend to have a lot of drops. I am trying to fit him into a draco or so. Not optimal. On the other hand... maybe a double toad list becomes more viable now. Since LoSaT is more reliable now the old "Kroak Bomb" could work. Port him in, do damage, port him back. Meanwhile the Slann summons chaff.
Ok here is a first simple draft, no artefacts or spells yet, and 50 point left if I am not mistaken: Allegiance: Seraphon Leaders Slann Starmaster (260) - General - Trait: Great Rememberer Saurus Scar-Veteran on Cold One (100) Lord Kroak (450) Skink Starpriest (80) Engine of the Gods (220) Engine of the Gods (220) Battleline 5 x Saurus Knights (90) - Lances 5 x Saurus Knights (90) - Lances 5 x Saurus Knights (90) - Lances Battalions Firelance Starhost (150) Dracothion's Tail (80) Endless Spells / Terrain Chronomantic Cogs (60) Balewind Vortex (40) Total: 1930 / 2000 Extra Command Points: 3 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 78 Tactics: One drop. Starpriest casts Cogs. If Cogs went well then Kroak uses them. Kroak casts Balewind. Slann teleports Kroak. Depending on whether Kroak has the Balewind or not he casts Celestial deliverance once or twice. He then might use a lore spell to do single target damage, and he can also use the comet. Then the Slann ports him back. If the Slann is in range of something he could also cast a lore spell. But he might also summon some chaff, like Skinks. The two EotG go for either summoning or mortal wounds, it depends on the rolls and the distance to the enemy. What could also work is adding another endless spell. Now that the double teleport always works we could for example throw a wrench into the melee alpha lists by porting a Starpriest (or the Slann himself) toward the enemy, cast a big blocking endless spell like the purple sun, gravetide, palisade, gnashing jaws, soulsnare shackles, geminids or pendulum, and then port back.
Other than the points cost still tied to GHB2018, sounds interesting. I was toying around something similar, but wasn't considering the battalions. Not only those. The knights, the EotG, Kroak. Those points are still with the GHB2018, but you can field it also with the new GHB
Yeah the whole list is still under 2k in the new GHB. (I THINK.... I don't know how much the BWV is now.)
Don't remember. But the EotG and the cogs cost a total of 60 pts more than before... while the 3 units of knights plus kroak save 50 pts. So it's doable.
BVW remained unchanged. USP is once per turn and got cost increase. With +8" range from astrolith and +6" from BVW, caster is still far enough to cast most spells without threat of unbind.
2 days ago i played slan+kroak vs nurgle and i won: Slann Kroak Eternity warden +30 guards +eternal starhost Astrolith Starpriest Chameleon 10skinks Bwv Cogs First 2 turns summoning skinks for screen slann on vortex and cogs Then i got carnosaur 20 warriors and iti was gg. He attacked with spells for mw but my dispells with 2+ to cast and disspel made job
Nice win, but we don't have +2 to disspell, just for casting rolls T.T The eternal starhost made the job?
