I found this fascinating. Well I like analyzing story structure. The main point of this video is that streaming culture and video culture has changed our system of story telling from beginning, middle and end format to beginnning, middle, and end formats where the ending is often shoehorned in awkwardly. My favorite show, Young Justice, has Bruce Timm at the head. Bruce Timm has made great shows and movies, medicore shows and movies, and The Killing Joke which was really bad. He has been in the animation business a long time and had perfectly good shows ended prematurely by studio meddling. He says he is never 100% if any season of a show he produces is going to be his last or is going to be asked to be continued. He is so used to this that he has a good system for steering the ship that is Young Justice. Every season resolves the main external conflict and several character driven B-plots, but it doesn't resolve all the B-plots and the end of the show always shows that 1) there are still scheming villains out there and 2) it teasing a new mystery. All the bases are covered. If the latest season is the last season there are no cliff hangers or major loose ends. If the latest season is getting a sequel, there is plenty of material to buidl into a new major conflict. Best of both worlds. I think this is what Marvel did this too. The individual movies always beat the villain and usually complete a character arc of some sort but they also tease the next movie or the greater Thanos conflict.
Now watching women's soccer world cup, Sweden vs. Canada. The winner will face Germany. Could be a good game.
Far more classy than Miley Saurus' displays. (Yes I know I've shared this before but it's my favorite lizard video of all time)
