The sunbloods are real, they're canonical survivors from the old world. And there's several bits and pieces where they essentially say that all the summoned seraphon are real. Once summoned they are corporeal, they don't get dispelled once the slann is done with them. They stick around forever. And there's a handfull of mentions of spawning pools. Essentially slann have replaced (most of) the spawning pools. But once summoned they're just as real as when spawned by regular means.
@Aginor so you mentioned we are guaranteed a new battletome, so I am extremely interested in the source, and how soon we are predicted to get a new battletome.
GW posted an update at some point that all factions would be getting an update. I can't find the link atm..
I can smell it in the wind, I can feel it in the sun, the Stars tell it, the bones talk of it, and so on. To be honest, I don't know any more than you do. This is more a hope than anything. I am not 100% sure either but I remember it a bit differently, much more vague. They definitely say stuff like "there will be a Battletome this year for each Grand Alliance" or "we plan to give all factions in AoS an update eventually", but I cannot recall them guaranteeing Battletomes for all armies.
The bit about the sunbloods is mentioned in their fluff in the tome. There's a bunch of theories listed by various "scholars" surrounding their age and martial prowess with the saurus themselves believing they are from the world that was. The rest is is spread out over various bits of fluff, white dwarfs and everything usually a throw-away sentence or two. Our fluff is rather weird in that we have very few dedicated sources, but we appear in a lot of other factions their fluff. So piecing it together is a pain.
Well there is a rumour engine from May which 99.9% shows a Seraphon dino, so would be weird to get a new model without a new battletome, right? /edit: Can't post links, lol? The rumour engine is from May 21 .
OK Skink Priests can do a simple thing like this as well. Simple cantrip. Skinks succeed on a 3 or higher; Slann succeed on a 2 or higher. Oh, Also: it is a “cantrip” e.g. minor magic that is unrelated to the magic phase, does not replace spells, is too small to dispel, it just works or it does not according to its own dice roll.
its not.... its a dragon. the underside scaling is NOTHING like the dino skin, and EXACTLY like the dragon models already in existence. I was hyped and then I saw the links on FB and it was dispelled pretty quick as to not be Seraphon.
I don’t want to believe it, but I’m convinced that’s the case too. I’d take just the endless spells and some updated rules...
There was another rumor engine that definitely was some Seraphon scales. I debated this way earlier in the thread and I'm convinced it's our lizard boizz. It's from 2018-12-11.
I also am hopeful, but there was very convincing evidence put on the FB that lead to that being Fyreslayers. its a cloak I believe.
There was debate it was a orc cloak, but i thoroughly debunked that this one hasn't been confirmed yet.
As far as lore involving spawning pools, sunbloods, and living breathing lizards. . . https://malignportents.com/story/dying-star/
In regard to making terradons more viable I wish what they were throwing really worked like bolas. Used to tangle up their target and slow them down. Make it on a hit roll a die and on 4+ halve the movement speed of targeted unit. Just a spitball but something along those lines.
It’s definitely a cool idea and very unique to AOS, it does not really fit the theme of the boulder drops. The rocks deal mortal wounds rather than slowing movement, although in a competitive sense that actually could be very useful, especially if they got the wary fighters ability. Edit: apologies, I thought the message was referring to the rocks, the bolas would definitely be awesome to see have a movement reduction effect
He meant the Bolas, not the rocks I think. Right now the bolas just explode and do 1d6 wound rolls. Tangling would be cool.
Oh the bolas? That would be awesome! Yeah the bolas should totally have an affect in slowing down movement, that’s how bolas work. That would be pretty game changing if they slowed down enemy movement, especially on fast moving models. Apologies for misreading
In general, more CC abilities would be cool. Fortuntatly they do seem to be going that way a little bit with some of the new slaanesh stuff and some of those newer endless spells.
