And 6s turn into unstoppable mortal wounds. It says in the rules you make no saves against them. And if you play the winter leaf glade all your 6s explode into extra hits as well. Sylvaneth is my 2nd faction so I’m happy they got some love. Hopefully seraphon get similar treatment.
what did change for order? wasnt there some new anouncments? Edit: i found it https://spikeybits.com/2019/07/the-empire-orcs-returns-gw-reveals-2-new-battletomes.html And of course they talk about our dinos looking forward to a big update, bigger then sylvaneth
I'm super pumped for my lizard boiiz getting an update. My minimum hope is endless spells, terrain, and a new hero. What I'm really hoping for is -all- resin models to be transferred to plastic + the previous mentions.
If we're getting a new hero, let's go all in. Make it a named Saurus Oldblood riding a giant predatory quetzalcoatlus - our answer to the Morathis and Gordrakks out there.
I picked up his model when they re released it for like two weeks... would be nice to have a reason to assemble and use it
Isn't that just a reference to the same rumor from earlier in the year that was supposedly debunked? I imagine either way we're probably up for a battletome update, but doesn't seem like any new information here. A new massive monster would be the coolest tho, fingers crossed for something appropriately epic.
A Morathi style character that starts off as a little skink but then transforms into an avatar of sotek. Giant flying snake with lots of wings.
There are two previews coming this week - the first is Gen Con, on Thursday at 3PM, and the second is the Warhammer World preview at the crazy time of 9PM on Saturday. Here’s hoping we hear more about the Tomb Kings’ spiritual successor faction for AoS and the scenery piece and endless spells coming for the Orc Warclans! (It’s unlikely that there would be anything about Seraphon in these though as they haven’t released Orc Warclans or *shudder* Cities of Sigmar yet)
Btw if I count correctly then GW will beat their previous record of "most Battletomes released in one year", from 2016 (nine Battletomes) this year. With the Sylvaneth, CoS and Orruk Battletomes they will have released nine this year, and I would say it isn't unlikely that another two or even more might still happen in 2019 (likely candidates based on rumors being Ogors, the new Death army, StD and Seraphon).
I feel like we will be last so sometime summer next year perhaps. I really get the feeling that they have no idea what to do with the faction.
I'm hoping it's a similar update to our 6th edition to 8th edition WHFB books. It was LONG overdue, a huge shift, and we lost some of our over-powered options (cupped hands?), but we got (brilliant) new models and a more balanced book at the end of it. That's the kind of update I wouldn't mind waiting for. ... Just not for too long.
It may just be me but since I started playing lizardmen in 6th edition whfb, I have always felt every release was timid and felt that everyone else was always getting really strong stuff. For once I’d like to have that feeling of my stuff is strong and amazing and you should feel afraid of my power. Not “eh it’s dinos, at least they look cool.”
Haha, I know the feeling, but I have that feeling more towards Dwarfs - certainly their 8th Edition releases in terms of units was pretty underwhelming - only 2 new units (Irondrakes and Gyrobomber) and couple of characters (King Belegar and Grimm Burloksson). Everything else was a plastic version of an existing unit (although admittedly they are very good). The release in terms of army book quality was great, it really brought Dwarfs up to speed and made their Army Special Rules actually useful, but in terms of units Dwarfs got very little in 8th Edition compared to Lizardmen, Tomb Kings, High Elves, Greenskins, and especially compared to GW’s 3 favourites in 8th (and also my least favourites) Warriors of Chaos, Dark Elves and Vampire Counts, who all got frakloads of stuff despite being far too powerful already compared to what they deserved to be.
Exactly my thoughts - I am new to the game and I can say it wasn't the lore that attracted me to the faction. I get the feeling deep down inside the want to discontinue the faction - but don't have the 'balls' to do it outright for fear of the massive backlash. I have picked up two start collecting boxes and the knights and warriors are horrible sculpts. Some of our models are really not nice at all.. feel so dated. In truth they need to do a overhaul of the whole faction but that is resources/money/time which there is no need to do considering we are not a high selling faction. Best we'll get IMO will be a new hero, endless spell and terrain. I hope I am wrong - but I am not holding my breath and have started to collect other factions already - ones that surely will get new things in the future.
We arn't a high seller because they don't update our stuff we have good representation at events and tournaments all they have to do is make our stuff plastic and every one hear will go without eating to update
Not just us, but also all of those whose compulsion to get the newest shiny thing has them jump on the bandwagon.
