What do you think of this list for tournament? I have tried the list once and managed to win against Skaven plague monk spam list on Three Places of Power, but it was a really close one. Had he got a double turn in the begining I would have lost. He got one after the second round but it wasnt as devastating as it would have been before, as I had killed so many plague monks my second turn. I might switch out the Wraithbow for something more defensive like Rectrices. Even though the extra mortal wounds here and there was really helpfull that game, the Slann almost died. The Pendulum was amazing, managed to doubletap a plague furnace. Slann Starmaster - General - Great Rememberer - Wraithbow - Stellar Tempest Engine of the Gods - Ethereal Amulet Saurus Astrolith Bearer 10x Skinks 10x Skinks 10x Skinks 3x Razordons 3x Skink Handlers Bastiladon - Solar Engine Bastiladon - Solar Engine Stegadon - Sunfire Throwers Thunderquake Starhost Balewind Vortex Aethervoid Pendulum
The list is a tad low on wounds, so you probably have to make up for that by summoning Skinks. It does look pretty good though.
Looks like a solid Thunderquake list! Thunderquake is awesome vs Slaanesh. It suffers vs Skaven, Fyreslayers, Idoneth, and Fyreslayers. Thunderquake is also very vulnerable to turn sequence (the double really giveth and takeveth away with this list).
Yes most of the summoning will go to skinks. Im not sure if I like the doubleturns, I like it and dont like it at the same time. I always forget that my opponent has a chance to get one. I think I have played to much 40k.
I would be very sad if random turn sequence went away. Because AoS isn't a very shooting heavy game and because objectives mater so much the random turn sequence forces players to plan father into the game than just one turn in advance. 40k has done a lot to balance the power of first within the last year, but it still something like 65-35 split in the favor of who goes first if both armies are top table armies.
This is how I currently run Thunderquake. Aethervoid Pendulum and Soul Snare Shackles can be swapped for other spells. I rather like Prismatic Palisade and Geminids or Uhl-Gysh. They are my go to Endless Spell, but I am assuming you want the move offensive route. Either Aqshy for Ignax's Scales on the Slann or Shyish for Aetheral Amulet on the EotGs are my preferred realms/aretfacts. I like your list, looks really good. Dont know if I want to switch out the Stegadon for the extra spells, I find it reallly useful. Teleport it away, use skink alpha move on it self, charge a horde unit and burn any survivors in your next turn. I think the Ethereal Amulet on the EotG is almost a must in a Thundequake.
I like the Steggadon charge. Most opponents don't see it coming. I think Cogs and BwV are almost mandatory for competitive Seraphon. They are even more vital when you have 1 or less EotGs in order to keep our summoning flowing.
You are probably right, I usally have Cogs in my lists. But I have never ever been able to cast the stupid thing before turn three, so I have never really seen its potential.
You don’t like purple sun in your thunderquake? I like it as a way to help fight the horde armies. I usually take purple sun and quicksilver swords to fight hordes and snipe heroes.
Its a good option aswell, but I prefer the Pendulum. Mostly because its easier to cast and far less likely to backfire.
I’ve used the list against Maggotkin now. Managed to win with 6-5 on Relocation orb, it was a pretty close one. Had a very lucky first turn, removed 30 plaguebearers and 40 plague monks first round. The Stegadon was the mvp of the game, it killed alot of plaguebearers and took the last 4 wounds of a unclean one that was contesting the objective.
I will be going to Krigsluntan GT in Stockholm in november. I’m thinking of taking this list or something similar to it. This will be my very first big tournament. I think even the Honest Wargamer will be covering the event.
Im taking this list against KO tomorrow. I dont know his list. Never played them before, got any tips playing against them?
It was Total conquest, I won mostly by summoning tons of skinks to flod the objectives. I think I summoned 60 skinks during the game. He had 2 khemists, 2 frigates, 1 unit of three skywardens and the rest where only arkanaut company with as many skyhooks as possible and a onedrop battalion i cant remember the name of. His first turn was brutal. He killed the engine, Razordons, stegadon and some skinks. In the second turn he got the Astrolith, lots of skinks and got the Slann down to 1 wound. The Slann got his revenge however, teleported and cast Stellar Tempest on a group of 30 arkanauts, killing 12 (another 11 fled later) and cast the Pendulum in the General khemists face and another unit of 10 arkanouts, killing the general and another 4 arkanauts. Then summoning 20 skinks to steal the objective they where guarding. It was a really fun game, you could never really tell who where going to win, not until the very end.
Clarity question, OP list doesn't indicate which behmonths are in the TQ... im assuming the two basti's… but that's not always a given, considering I run mine with two stegadons post GHB2019
