Slowplay becomes punished more and more at my local tournaments, so I'm searching for ways to speed up my games. Generally, I suffer more from my inability to play fast (my games rarelly last after turn 3) and there were several games which I could win if they went to turns 4 and 5. I found bringing skinks and removing them from table, as well as moving them, takes quite a while, so I decided to get some movement trays. But I cannot decide which ones would be better without hurting flexibility - with 5 slots or with 10? From one hand, 5x ones gives more flixibility, but 10x will make things even faster. I can always remove certain models if it is important. Main problem for me is to place them after summoning fast enought, if it matters. I'd like to know about your experience with trays and some tips and tricks. Thanks! P.S.: I won't mind other tips on how to play with Seraphon faster.
I keep about 60 Skinks loaded onto movement trays for summoning at events. Also helps with LoSaT. On my opponent's turns I generally reload the movements trays. This helps A LOT! I use the 5x trays.
I find I don’t really need movement trays. My skinks are usually stretched wide in long lines to block board space and zone out areas. So it’s pretty easy to move a straight line the correct distance quickly. Movement trays tend to encourage fantasy style clumping which I don’t like in a game all about board control. But that’s just me.
I picked up a set of the Apoc 32mm trays for my warriors. While not the most efficient if I want to maximize melee, makes moving 40 a lot faster.
Thanks, everyone, for the replies! I decided to take 8 5x slots for a start. Will be testing how it goes soon.
