Now, this is a much more sensible reasoning. Probably they won't be my cup of coffe, but hopefully they will evolve in something more good.
Bonereapers = Tyranids X Necrons. I'm whelmed. Necromongers from Chronicles of Riddick were also a design inspiration it seems. The Lord Marshal says hi and wants his helmet design back, lol.
So now that we have Ogors getting an update and Bonecast Eternals coming out soon, that makes 11 battletomes for the year. As a reminder, in no order, we've had: Gloomspite Gitz, Fyreslayers, Skaven, FEC, Slaneesh, Khorne, Sylvaneth, Ogors, Bonereapers, Cities, and Orruk Warclans. Since GW is doing 1 battletome a month (technically), we can anticipate ONE MORE BATTLETOME THIS YEAR... ... ... ... Lizards? Yes? Temple ship endless spell?
And Chonicles of Riddick is one of the best movies ever, criminally underrated. I actually played the xbox game, Escape from Butchers Bay. When I was playing it, I thought, this game has the one of the best stories I ever seen in a game! The reason was it was actually a script from a Riddick film they didn't make and put it into the game instead. So if GW decide to rip off Riddick, I can only accuse them of good taste.
At least you are forcing them to use the cp on countering the bravery debuff instead of doing something cool.
Yes, but actual numbers means almost nothing. It's all about forcing opponent on spending CP. If he doesn't already have a warlord trait/artefact/ability, that forces it to ignore it.
I personally cant wait for the new ogre book, been looking to pick up a second army now that I have 2k points and ogres are just what i wanted.
i just picked up a decently painted and assembled BCR start collecting to try and get into a destruction army, and im thinking the ogors book will put them in a decent spot again
ah well, I hope we get to see their drawbacks soon, apart from being ugly as sin of course.. Cuz without drawbacks what they showed is just far too powerufll.
well they are slow 4-6" move is not good. but we have to wait untill we see if they get a teleport or can run and charge before we make a judgement call. also elite army so that is a inherent down side
The only thing shown so far is their basic infantry. We know they have cavalry. And we know they have their unique command ability nonsense which will probably be used for some additional movement if I'd have to make a guess (as well as other nonsense ) And as for "elite" as a drawback, it's also explicitly stated that their basic guard unit thing is a freaking horde unit in their army spotlight article. So it's not like they're going to struggle with getting enough bodies on the table. Also, their complete immunity to battleshock removes a significant weakness of elite armies as you can't cause any models to flee ever. Which was one of the drawbacks of elite troops, you risked losing a lot of battleshock triggered. But that issue has been completly solved as well. Imho, so far it doesn't look good balance-wise..
no doubt well that depends on cost they have phoenix guard stats so if they cost 160 for 10 then it would still be vary elite they have bravery 10 you would have to kill 5 4+ rerolling models to even approach battle shock tests i don't know about you but i don't think we could do 20ish damage in 1 turn any way.
Moose are impressive animals. The ones in Norway aren't quite as big as the Canadian ones, but I have met a few in the wild and they are huge and very cool. About the topic: I am still a tint bit tempted to get a few Bonereapers and try Skeleton heads and my Morghast paint scheme on them. Might look decent. But I want to see the full rules first.
