No they do it on purpose to make you constantly have to update your collection or buy new armies. Its basic business, keep creating a need for your product.
Well it worked on me atleast. Super excited for the new Ogre Mawtribes. I quite like the new spells and prayer they got. Should be fun to use and bring a nice element into play.
To be honest it often feels like GW simply writes additional expansions (or other updates, like a new battletome) in much the same way a fanwritten ruleset is made. And it shows in nearly all of their games. Someone writes some stuff he thinks is cool. So he (accidently) introduces some stuff that (nearly) breaks established rules, like say free teleports. Since they seem to work in relative isolation on only the one battletome at a time, they don't really notice the issues themselves. Also, an overall designphilosophy to put limits on what's acceptable and what rules cannot ever be broken seems to be largely missing. The 9" distance requirement on teleporting/deepstriking seems to be one of the few examples where they do actually have an overarching rule they apply consistently across armies. Testing is done in a small group of people who aren't actual testers. So obviously they miss things The next one expansion than has to one-up this one, further reinforcing it. Which both creates a lot of powercreep & rulesbloat. If they don't fix that I do fear they'l eventually run into the exact same issues WHFB had. It's not quite as bad yet in AoS, but it is showing. There were some pictures on facebook, don't think they've made a proper post yet. There's 1 very neat one for the firebelly, he sets a target on fire and whenever the target moves for any reason it suffers damage. So it works on movement, charges, stuff like a stegadon's alpha. Which is quite an interesting spell. I really like that one.
oh cool butcher is good now thats fantastic and fire belly is a good controle woooo and pile ins count as a move so if they want to hit you thats a move a charge and a pile in or 3d3 this ability esenshaly removes a unit for a turn.
meh, plenty of units who can take that 3D3 and not really care But yeah, it is at least an interesting one. Far better than what they used to come up with.
well ya if you hit a hord with it it does nothing but it would cut a unit of trogs cernothes or demigryphs in half it's a anti elite spell and will kick bone reapers buts all their durability is on the save a 6+ fnp isn't going to help much
I also like the +1 to attacks for melee weapons. It's like an ogre waaagh in a way. Just smaller. And potentially really powerful. Just look at Ironguts. They have damage 3 per attack, and base 3 attacks each. I will totally run a max squad of them whenever possible.
eh we will have to see what they do with yeties at the moment they have a 6+ save and bad attacks so they arnt great
they pile in and attack from 6", but can still normal move to 3" away.... their attacks are not bad at all...9 attacks in a minimum unit, 4+/3+/-1/2 damage. yeah they have a 6+ but they have 4 wounds. they are a better more durable glass cannon than our rippers lol. which was my point. they aren't supposed to be tanky despite the fact that they kinda are, and now you can restore models back... that's some decent survivability.
Don't really care about the Ogres, as I don't play Blood Bowl, but I really want those Gnobilars to use as Gretchin in my all-Grot Ork army...
They hit on 4s against a average save of 4 they only do 2-6 damage. thats as bad as liberators who are 10 points cheeper are more durable and get 2 more models.(not as fast but STE what can you do) The 6" pile in is good but like everything in bcr it's on a bad unit.
makes me curious if their actual warwscrolls are gonna be updated significantly. Especially now that the regular ogers need to work together with the beastclaw raiders. There's bound to be some overlap between their units, and some (minor) changes to make a particular unit stand out a bit more would be welcome.
well we know that iron guts got a update they will hit on 3+ when it comes out they also ignore spells on a 6+ and have a mini blood rore not great but surely better. we just have to wait and see how good everytthing ends up as.if it's any thing like the last 2 books we are looking as a compleat over haul
So... does any AoS rumor monger know if there are any plans for the release of mortal (i.e. NOT daemons or beasts) Slaaneshi models?
the gun leak looks really like Kharadron Overlords and if that could be true, we are REALLY the last faction left correct?
ever chosen STD zeench and nurgle all need 2nd edition books. there probably going to combine everchosen and std but ya only6 left and if they keep up with the 1 a month we should see the last of them next summer
