Save-after-save abilities in WH40k called FnP (Feel no Pain) in previous edition. It is still used among the community as a short nickname for similar abilities both in 40k and AoS. Same goes for "ward save" but it was a Fantasy Battles thing.
It's a mortal wound save only now, that also occasionally reflects damage back to the attacker, cuz why the hell not.
Some fluff about the bonepeople. Apparently if a general fails Nagash he might be turned into a horse. At least it's a novel punishment. Still feels like a really weird faction though.
So. There are reveals tomorrow at Blood and Glory! Is it just me, or are we looking to be in an even less likely place for an update at the moment? At least a few months away. Almost all of the rumour engines that looked Seraphon-y have turned out to be something else. There are only two left and both are very dubious - the 'dino tail' looks more dragon-like and the mace/flail-head (although spikes on stone) doesn't feel quite right. Is anyone holding out hope?
well at least the flail didn't turn out to be an oger, which wouldve been one of the more likely ones. So there's that I guess.
Also, theres the fact that a seraphon army just went 5-0 at some tournament. Granted mostly cuz it was tailored to work well at the tournament & noone really had a counter to it. But that sorta stuff always tends to work against good updates.
4-1 4 major victories and 1 minor loss the honest wargamer made a mistake and corrected themselves latter. still teradan did a very good job and was a marvoless player to wach most of his oponents had no idea what his list did and 2 of them had never played against seraphon
I have to believe whoever writes the tome has to have a reasonable idea of what is 'normal' now though? I have lost count of the times I have been asked "Your lances only have 1" reach?", "He only has a 5+ or 4+?", "Any rend? ... It's a dinosaur?", "Those are one wound each?" The powercreep in even basic stats is one of the main reasons we need an update, to my mind.
Totally agreed. The Trogladon, has no rend. Big monster that spits ACID, no rend. I tend to just say that Seraphon are allergic to rend and mortal wounds. But God forbid we teleport, most broken thing ever
What makes balancing very difficulto is that we just win by porting around and movin one of the weakest units in the game stat-wise.
well it is very strong we have the best board control in the game and untill the activation wars that was all we needed.now you realy need a unit that can live for a turn in combat or that can kill something even with bodies we just die so fast
All our Battleline units and most Saurus heroes are immune to rend -1. That's more than most armies have. Mortal wounds though... yes. But then, most armies are. That's intended. But: there are most likely too many sources for mortal wounds. That's the bad part.
That's true. It got a tad better with the spells but it is still not as good as many others. I wish our Saurus were more viable.
A fine balance for that would be to retcon (or move forward) the fluff around 'remembering' or summoning units. Stronger units being able to teleport isn't so much of an issue if they aren't disposable. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is at least a faction choice, to play living (stronger) lizards and lose access to summoning. The other huge shift I feel we need is a move back to named heros. At the very least, Tetto'Eko and Kroq'gar should be unique characters again.
