Oh yes, missed out that bit. Settra still refused to become a Mortarch though, which was what I was telling @Erta Wanderer
Well... assumptions are fun And a new Settra would either be plastic or (shudder) Forge World Resin, so it'll be one or the other. In addition, because his chariot is a pretty big thing, I wouldn't be surprised if GW tried to milk its pricing, especially as he's so popular
Assumptions are a path to the dark side. Assumptions lead to hope. Hope leads to disappointment. Disappointment leads to suffering. You've managed to take a simple meme and infer that a plastic Settra will be released for a game that is to be released in 3-4 years. Wishlisting Masterclass!
Man, I never was into warhammer before AoS started and Settra sounds awesome, almost as cool as the lizardmen. Seeing his model and his new model would be awesome as the tomb kings looked incredible
I once bought a box of plastic skeletons. I never made anything out of it, then came AoS…. Now? I will paint them, find a new style technical paint, have fun deciding on some old style square base undead, probably an vampire. The one with the big wing. They might get some AoS buddies on the table in future. But atm they will be used to experiment on, learning how to improve my painting. And some day, an Vampire Counts army. Depending on how it goes.
To be fair though, why would GW include two different Settra memes to celebrate the return of its flagship game if he wasn’t going to turn up?
That hardly means that we're getting a new plastic Settra model. As I said before... Although I do admire your enthusiasm and fine taste in good models and WFB characters. I think @Aginor is correct when he states that we really don't know what we are getting at this point. Welcome to a greater and more beautiful world!
How convenient that GW release this around the same time KoW releases 3rd edition. Considering they have nothing apart from a logo to tell/show us - my guess this was just a way to take the spotlight off KoW...
Here is a thought/prediction. After reading some lore it appears that creatures get burned as seraphon vanish into starlight. Maybe there will be some effect where the opponent takes mortal wounds on a 4+ or 5+?
And it would appear that they succeeded! If Warhammer: The Old World manages to recapture the glory of WFB of old, I think that KoW and T9A will lose a fairly significant portion of their player base!
Maybe - though a lot of people that I know that play KoW is not only playing because of the ruleset but because the freedom then have to use what ever models they want + the hobby aspect of diorama movement trays. I wasn't around for WHFB and missed out of seeing massive ranks of dwarves.. elves.. knights.. etc, so I'll be keen to see what they do. Though right now it is hard to get excited for just a logo
I'm not claiming that The Old World (TOW) will completely decimate the KoW player base, but it will put a very sizable dent in it (assuming that TOW is faithful to WFB). I can guarantee that the owners of KoW were very much unhappy to hear the news that WFB's successor is on the way. On this site alone, there is already more buzz about TOW than Kings of War ever got (and the same is true for other sites that I have visited). That's just my prediction, time will tell.
There is a probability that Settra is a Stormcast Eternal now. There is a Lord-Celestant called Setrus from the Imperishables warrior chamber. Really hates Nagash and is known to get stuff done. But I dont know, seems a little too obvious.
That's only chaos cuz the starblood cleanses the taint. In certain cases the mere act of fighting on a certain battleground eventualy drives back chaos as the ground is cleansed more and more with each fallen seraphon. It doesn't work on "normal" creatures. there's a couple like that. And GW usually isn't very subtle. There's also some mentions of Gelt with respect to chamon, though I can't remember what exactly, think it was in the book that came with the new spells. But it was equally subtle...
Will they? mine is an honest question: i don't doubt T9A will suffer heavily, but KoW is a different system. People that didn't followed GW into AoS, went mostly toward T9A (i believe), which was the legacy of 8th. KoW got a different set of rules... i suppose that actual KoW players love that system, otherwise they would play T9A, so the coming od the Old World should have a marginal impact on them.
