An army made of warcry warbands for STD. It looks decently interesting.

mwha, some of em could be usefull

Furies - Basicly skinks, but they can actually kill something
The unmade - enemies within 3" can't retreat
Iron golems - rerollable 4+ save and 12 wounds per unit
    Corvus Cabal - super mobile
Splintered fang - Mortal wounds, ressurecting snakes for some extra tarpitting

There's some potential use in those at least. Might not be super competitive, but I can definitly see them being viable in certain setups. Especially if you combine it with the right support.

mwha, the chariots are still about as powerfull as they used to be. They're not what makes that list interesting.

    furies aren't a warband
this ability doesn't work on a 10 wound 6 save unit they just die in combat so you don't have to retreat on something a lot more durable like a stonehorn it's a great ability
but no rend protection so most of the time it's a 5 or 6 rerolling and you cant move so it's only a defensive option.
?what it's just a 8" move with fly but you can't fly over units so that takes away the best part of flying
only 10 attacks so 1 and a half mortal wounds and a 5+save so they are just going to die no one is coming back

With the exception of the Furies though they all cost the same as a unit of Skinks. From my initial peruse or the Warscrolls, I would have thought they would basically serve the same purpose, except you swap the wary fighters ability for something else, presumably with more relevance to your particular battle. And given that there’s seven to choose from, that’s a lot of choice in special abilities when it comes to chaff for you to spam. I don’t think there’s anything amazing in those Warbands, but just the level of customisability that they afford has to be noteworthy in itself

Look, none of them are amazing. But they all have rather usefull abilities especially for chaff. Usefull enough that your opponent is going to regret ignoring them. And making your opponent regret ignoring them is rather amazing for chaff.

Not to mention, there's tremendous potential for synergy. Take a sorcer lord and some splintered fang, allowing you to re-roll hits and a single unit is already doing 3-4 mortal wounds per round of combat on average, plus 2-3 normal hits. And the splintered fang now has a re-rolling 5+ save with 11 wounds & a ressurecting model. That's amazing for 70 point chaff with minimal support. And yeah obviously they're no match for say fully buffed hearthguard berserkers, but they're also a fraction of the prize.
