Would be neat if they gave us a dual kit so we could make cold one riders and a new unit of horned ones
I'd honestly like to see a step up in wound count for all Sauras. Regular Bois go up to 2 wounds with same defense as now, but a way to increase it. Guard to 3, 100 points for 15 wounds and a 3+ save when near a hero? Peaches and cream. Then knights get some actual staying power at 3 wounds, and some heavy bonuses to charge, as they should be heavy cav. Then Sauras heros get beefy, take some martial arts and weight lifting classes, as well as get on a diet, so they can actually be blenders that can get where they need to go.
Just messing with the blood bowl sculpt I can tell you it would be really easy for them to make dual kits just based on the way the new heads are, and I am fairly confident that there is a line update coming since it would be madness not to fully utilize the new sculpts
I agree with this here, give us a cold one rider, and horned one rider kits. I can see the horned one riders being a bit tougher and gaining some offensive power in the mount. Ofcourse making them more expensive. Again, agree with you here. Cold ones with 3 wounds, Horned ones with 4. Our gaurd should feel like an guardian unit, and not this seemingly thickly armoured glass jar. But Saurus should be 2 wounds each! Our heros should also take a lesson from some of the new ones aswell. Sunbloods should be more around 8 wounds and 3+ save. 5++ feel no pain. Give some love to good old Gor-Rok's undying body. Oldbloods on foot should be offensive monsters imo. Able to dual most other heros to a decent degree. Eternity Wardens should be a bit more like a heavy hitting body gaurd, able to take wounds for others but shrug them off with a 5+FnP. But this is just me
From a fluff perspective I understand why Saurus should have two wounds. From a balance perspective my idea is either 2 wounds 5 up save or 1 wound 4 up save. Regardless of how you want to buff then, Saurus as they stand are just way over costed. You can get 40 clanrats for 200 who will have very similar stats, or 40 Saurus warriors for 330. If GW is going to say Saurus are worth that much, give em an extra wound or better save. For Saurus Guard, they really need an extra wound. Mortal wounds are just way to effective against them.
meh, saurus just shouldn't be a 40 man horde unit. 2 wounds 4+ save would be fine if you didn't bring 40 of em (and even then, there's sturdier stuff still in the game...)
Never said they should, only using 40 as an example because horde bonuses/discount. When they get the 2 attacks on the celestite weapons its quite effective. Also, 4+ save and 2 wounds would be a point increase since their damage profile is decent and we ignore -1 rend. Id be fine with either 2 wounds 5+ save or 1 wound 4+ save.
The number of new models for our release (faction terrain and Endless Spells not withstanding) is going to be 0-1, and the chance it's Saurus Warriors is 0.000001%.
I still suspect we'll get new terrain, endless spells, and a hero. A lot of factions got that treatment (or a mix of it) in 2019. I highly doubt new plastic models to replace finecast or updates to Saurus models.
I am also thinking this might be the sad reality of it. The only rumor engines which has not been confirmed so far which COULD be Seraphon related is: from 2019-05-21: This one could be a lot of things, it could be Hysh Aelves, it could be some new Eldar stuff, but it could possibly also be some Seraphon character of sorts: It might be a stretch, but it does remind me a bit of the new old blood armor design and sunbolt gauntlet etc.
Damn thats old. Maybe in Adepticon this match we'll get a new SC box? Keep the carnosaur the same, replace the warriors/knights. Doubt it, but they dod redo S2D
Meh, I wouldn't be surprised with 1 or 2 new sculpts of an existing model, and then quite possible a dual one. E.g. a combined guard/warrior sprue. Or a salamander/razordon sprue. There's too much variation in age and quality between the various stuff. Updating/cleaning up the range seems logical. But we also still use everything, so simply throwing the model out seems stupid. And unlike CoS we don't have any redundancy where you can say "we throw out X cuz you still have Y & Z as heavy infantry." So updating the line should come with new sculpts, not just the removal of old ones.
If they change the SC, they're going to go ETB, brand new sculpts and monopose, like the S2D. Its an easy way to cull the deals of a start collecting that we have enjoyed, while also giving existing customers a reason to buy it. Betting on Scar vet on Cold one, 10 Sauras warriors, and 5 knights.
I wouldn’t be to surprised with a new SC, but it seems unlikely that they will remove the carnosaur from the box. It’s such an iconic model that is generally what first comes to mind when someone mentions Seraphon.
Entirely true, and I'd hate for it to be removed from the box. But it's also the majority of the boxes price. It also gives us tonnes of bitz and several builds to make, not to mention the cavalry unit in our SC doesn't match the standard template of Cavalry sprues and unit boxes. The S2D box was somewhat similar, in that the chariot had a lot of extras that could be made into more units. Its a pessimistic thought, but if we do see a SC change, I doubt it will be of the same value as the one we currently have, if only to increase sales on the base Carnosaur kit, or to bring it better into line with other SC.
Endless spells for tzeentch Interesting bits: - Any tzeentch wizard can use it, that includes a slaves to darkness tzeentch wizard, or a tzaangor in a beastmen army. - A mine-like spell with some cool random effects, ranging from creating chaos spawn to giving extra attacks - Casting bonusses & a stacking bravery debuffing damage spell. - Flaming heads is your usual "I do mortal wounds" thing, but extra good at murdering wizards.
