So I was at my local GW Store because they are running a Path to Glory campaign and I plan to participate in that. We got talking about an update to our Tome, both the employees said that we will get an update soon™. Though they are not sure when, they said that all the Tomes should be updated in / before March and that March is the month where the Pointy Aelves will drop. Edit: I forgot to mention that it could be that our update will be after the Pointy Aelves because till then there seems no release to be planned, but both of the employees said that they are uncertain about that because GW surprised even them with the Slaves to Darkness release.
Don't forget that most of the work on that (like the scales and stuff) is just a skin over the model. They aren't actually that detailed so even if they bring those models from Total War over to Warhammer there's still a ton of work that needs to be done
I assume GW can't simply use Total Wars models with out working out a deal. I really like the total war games, but I'm actually not really a fan of how saururs and in particular Kroxigors look in that game....
They do have some scales, but I can't argue against them not having enough scales and that those that are there are not pronounced enough
we don't know we could get a goblin update where they replace every thing or a skaven update where they replace nothing. GW be crazy
Be warned! Kroxigors may look cool and on paper they are decent, but for the points they cost they really are not worth it for the performance they give.
The undercutting was all about the assembly and fitting them on a sprue. I agree that actually tecxturing the models might an "issue", but CAD is a pretty amazing software, and they already have the Seraphon assets in it (looking at any of the kits that can out in 8th editing WhFB) to apply to the models. The big hurdle would be the Design IP. But who's the best at stealing IP and making it their own with weird names? Maybe not GW, but their pretty good at it. Besides, would a design, based on their design, be fair game for being used as a basis for a redesign of the first design?
I've been reading that around the forums. I just love the lore and the idea of them. Gonna run them in Thunderquake when I finish it
I've run them in a TQSH, and they held their own in cover against a unit of 10 blightkings who couldn't push their way into the trees for cover themselves. The Kroxigor ended up dying, by held those Bois back off the objective for 3 turns.
