It's such a shame. Even under ideal conditions these guys are underwhelming. Why is it that three Ogor Gluttons are likely to deal out more punishment than three Krox even though they are cheaper, smaller, and by all accounts less impressive from a lore perspective? Lowering points cost is not a sustainable solution. These are our big guns and should hit like big guns. I do feel that retaining that niche as horde killers is important, though. It should be super satisfying to send your Krox wading into a mess of Grots or Skaven and being very confident that they will cripple or erase it. Maybe a bravery debuff to send them running for the hills as well?
Yeah, I'd say Ogres due to the big shield being especially scrappy, but we've already had the Ogres' battletome release, so how does that work then? Will we be getting another Ogre faction or something? Alternatively it could be something for the Wolf Rider Goblin faction teased by Rippa's Snarlfangs, as there are quite a few wolf teeth hanging from those ropes attached to the looted Dwarf shield. 2? What's the other? (I disproved the boot one as being an Ork boot)
Perhaps it's going to be part of a new Giant kit (even though the existing one is still great), or a monster for said Goblin faction that's already been teased?
Ah, see I'm in the mindset that the boot will be Ogors. And this shield or Gutplate aswell. But what I have seen on Facebook is that this could be for a Giant. Hopefully a slave giant for the ogors.
Sorry mate but Ogre boots are different from Ork boots, and the rumoured one from Christmas is definitely an Ork boot, 100%. Trust me, I have heaps of Orks and have seen a fair few of their boots in my time It could indeed but the existing Giant kit already contains options to make an Ogre giant. Do we really need a new Giant kit when the existing one is fine and we have far more pressing hobby issues right now?
It looks like a dwarven shield on an even bigger shield, maybe a giant for warcry? Or a Giant faction?
I'm still holding out for it to be for a better Maneater kit. But making a new giant for Warcry could be interesting. Currently I'm just using the Kings Of War giant model. But a new kit wouldnt be bad. The giant army thing would be AWSOME. Totally elite, and large, but awsome none the less. But what I would hope for it to be, is the release of a new massive creature. Something to give Destruction a "God" level model. (Such as Allerial, Nagash, and Archaon)
I know this is super random, but as I day dream, one thing I want more than anything is for Lord Kroak to get a new model and awesome rules. They should make him super unique and powerful like Morathi. I'd give GW all my money. I still have a lot of optimism about the new book. We will all hold out together, and when it's released, we will pour champagne over our heads.
Please let's not have mechanics that work with battleshock. Way too many abilities or ways to avoid battleshock I'd rather kill models than relay on that mechanic.
now that would be a thing. maybe not army wide, but blood roar affecting even them would be great, even if it was still an unreliable mini game
Personally, I don't mind additonal effects that affect battleshock, but I want the base ability to do something before battleshock. Like Bloodroar. It could decrease enemy bravery, but it could also make it so they're 'parazyled with fear' and can't retreat. Edit: Also, that big sheild? Local GW till-monkey is saying it's Giants. Just Giants. He didn't say anything beyond that, and I've learned not to really take everything GW store folk say seriously...
The power fantasy behind unleashing a primeval bellow so terrifying that even unshakable war constructs will abandon their cause is too cool.
Well yeah, the shield is now the ?third? piece that hints at Orks/Ogors/Giants, maybe Chaos (the boot, that thing that looks liked a spiked hammer, and now the shield). In other news, for 40k the next Psychic Awakening book after TS vs DA/GK is going to be Tau vs DG. They thankfully picked up the current storyline (which is way too good to ignore). Called it, so +1 nerd point for me
