Wow! that's great news! Finally. Well, my prediction is perhaps an obvious one. We'll get a new terrain piece, probably a Spawning Pool or an Icon of Sotek/Dracothion.
Fyreslayers style release. rework of our base warscrolls, update to the faction abilities, a scenery piece and endless. no new models.
Probably just the same scrolls we have now removing all references of 6+ to natural 6s, chameleon skinks no longer drop in combat, shadow strike put at 9" plus counts as their movement. No more bastilladon at all but we get a new 5 wound hero that has a wholly within 6" bubble of plus 2 bravery....which we'll need with our new 7 bravery across the board. Now, anything everyone else guesses will look fantastic. You're welcome everyone.
we will loose our good battalions and our summoning will take a major nerf or get removed entirely. they will double down on teleportation skink foot heroes will be combined into one warscroll.
^ this! And some off the warscroll changes might be: Carnosaur -2 rend on jaw Saurus getting 4+ save (2 wounds is too much) Saurus guard getting a 5+ FNP, battalions gives a 4+ FNP (or an extra save only vs mortal wounds)
I HOPE we just get some minor tweaks to abilities, rework of Kroxigors, some actual rend, and some better saves, like Carno with a 3+ or warriors with 4+. Only thing that really needs more wounds I think is Saurus Guard. And some updated models is love but i don't see that happening.
Same here. I seriously doubt at this point that we'll get new models. Maybe spells and/or terrain, but probably no new models. As for the release date, probably Feb-March. Most likely will be an update-only, which will remove a lot of our most powerful stuff like Thunderquake and nerf Shadowstrike, but I don't see any units getting discontinued or nerfed. If anything, I think we'll see some minor buffs to a few units, but nothing extremely drastic.
I'm hoping to see Saurus models receive buffs across the board with perhaps some better saves on our warriors and and extra wound on the guard, I would especially like to see a speed buff on our knights and/or a better damage-on-charge ability than the lackluster one we currently have. i think our skink batalions will be nerfed quite a bit especially the shadowstrike battalion changing it to be in line with all other deepstrike rules. Along with endless spells/terrain it would be great if we got a plastic slaan or better yet plastic versions of all of our important heroes.
UPDATE TO RUMOR THREAD!!! "Dollars to donuts" that new scenery will be integral to summoning now which should hopefully free up our Slaan from being the CCP battery his currently is and instead will be zapping all those who oppose the Old Ones' plans!
Yes! This looks really cool, definitely the type of terrain piece I was hoping we would get. I agree 100%. It definitely should augment summoning to free up the slann to be the caster he's supposed to be. I'm still holding out hope that we get some endless spells as well, or at least some boost to our Magic. Hoping that the new battletome gives our units and much-needed boost, and that we don't lose too much of what we have already that's fun.
Yes probably something to do with summoning but what if the blue lightning is celestial energy and it embues starborne seraphon with extra abilities
OK so some predictions to keep the excitement going. Coalesced could be a subfaction in which you get the ability of scaley skin which could either be a plus 1 save across the army or a 6+ shrug.(but loose teleport) If we don't get endless spells I think the slann could know all the spells from whatever realm you pick your army to be from. Not a prediction but would like to see poison back on skinks and chameleons. Pyramid helps with summoning but will also provide buff for units nearby. No battleshock and plus 1 to hit something like that. Carno rend 2 on Jaws and 1 on claws. Stegadon gets some type of impact hits similar to ogors. Roll dice equal to charge roll each 5+ is a mortal (maybe some way to buff it to 4+) Bastiladon up to 10 wounds Saurus guard and knights extra wound plus 1 to save Saurus plus one save and rend on clubs. I like most of what you said, but I do NOT want basti to go up to 10 wounds. 10 wounds means degrading wound table. make it 9 to protect from that, like they did to "old one eye" in the tyranids army.
