We know the High-ish aElves are gonna be the big AoS reveal at the LVO preview tonight, but I really hope we get something for Seraphon, even if it is just a tease/sneak peek...like the cover for the new battletome similar to how they did with Cities of Sigmar & Orruk Warclans (least I think that's what their first teases were, lol).
Has there been mention of an "Astrolitic Monolith" or astrolitic skygate before? Found an entry on TGA Community of someone saying an earlier manifest from a few months ago listed something called by that first name (https://www.tga.community/forums/topic/22826-the-rumour-thread/?&page=1530). Someone on reddit said skytower/gate instead of monolith, but I can't find that one at the moment (at work and can't access reddit). I tried looking for the manifest too, but so far no luck there so HUGE grain of salt on this one...this is the rumor thread tho and I've been on a long hiatus from this forum lol
https://www.warhammer-community.com...sisters-of-battle-and-moregw-homepage-post-1/ Looking at what LVO had last year could give us some clues honestly.... there was a BattleTome with endless spells, a Battlebox for 40k, a campaign supplement/thingy for Aos, WARCRY, and an Underworld Warband. And a tease for the best Primaris Lieutenant
The Seraphon are getting a new battletome! And this awesome thing… From the earliest days of Warhammer Age of Sigmar, the Seraphon have been a massively popular faction – they were even one of the first to get a battletome! Now you’ll be able to field them with all the nifty allegiance abilities, sub-faction rules and more that you’ve come to expect from a modern Warhammer Age of Sigmar army. The new battletome fully explores the origins and nature of the Seraphon in the Mortal Realms. You’ll have the chance to find out how the original refugees from the world-that-was became the celestially charged Starborne, and how the Seraphon are changing into the Coalesced – whatever that means. You won’t have long to wait until this new Seraphon battletome and scenery hits shelves – keep an eye out for more previews soon.
I was worried the new cover was going to just be meh as I liked the original...boy am I so glad to be wrong!!!
Looks like just a Battletome and scenery piece, no new miniatures, no spells, no spawning pool, which is pretty much the level of release I was prepared for. Our range is old, but it's mostly not terrible, and we have a lot of options model-wise. Endless spells seemed like something the Slann would be more than capable of, but we'll have to see how Seraphon 'work' now with the new battletome and lore. The ziggurat is pretty cool, but I can't help but feeling like the sculpt is quite unimaginative. Really, I'm just excited to see what the lore is like. Even if it's ridiculous, at least I'll know what to about my army's paint scheme and theming. I'm going to hold off judgment until I can get a look at the contents of the new battletome.
We might get new models, it was just a preview, they haven't said anything about not getting us new stuff. The terrain piece makes it promising
I really hope we get a feasible option for a non-Slann general. Other than goofing with the Triple Carnosaur meme-team, I'm tired of feeling like I'm crippling myself by not pigeon-holing myself into a Slann-centered strategy every single game.
Agreed on all points @Brandfas Machine. Although I like the scenery piece, I was hoping something more dynamic/eye-catching. At least they're keeping the Aztec/Mayan aesthetic which was a big draw for me to the army. The little snippet at the end about being keeping an eye out for more previews doesn't seem as promising of newer models like the "Lumineth Realm-Lord" bit about more coming soon. And that name! When GW said they wanted less generic and more original IP they weren't kidding, haha! The name of the spearmen alone is ridiculous, "Vanari Auralan Wardens." ...they do look pretty cool though lol
"You won’t have long to wait until this new Seraphon battletome and scenery hits shelves – keep an eye out for more previews soon."
GW never confirms 'bad news', so them saying not saying anything about new models isn't really an indicator that there's a higher chance of us getting new models. That being said, it would be amazing, and I would love for you to be right <: j
Well the terrain piece came out of nowhere and had no rumor engine attached to it and GW said that more previews are coming soon so maybe new line.
