Despite no BT/terrain pre-order announcement, I'm glad to see the WarCry cards for Seraphon. Agree with previous statements in that this kinda confirms no new sculpts as I doubt GW would have released the cards with images of new sculpts before announcing said new sculpts. Also am in the party that the recycled art is a bit lazy. But I'm pretty excited for Temple Guard in WarCry! (Not sure they'll be in, but I'm pretty certain as they'd be our beefier guys...unless they pull in Kroxigors...hm...lol).
Don’t worry about it mate, everyone’s entitled to have a rant every so often (perhaps I have one a little too often ). I certainly feel sorry for you chaps with GW keeping on pushing the Seraphon release back. At least you’ve got Warcry cards now though, so that’ll keep you all occupied for a little while until the main release arrives. I’m pretty annoyed that Fyreslayers are now the only AoS faction not to have Warcry cards, especially given that dividing Nurgle into two packs, like Tzeentch, wasn’t really necessary as again they don’t have that big a roster. GW had better release the Fyreslayer cards alongside Lumineth and any other factions to follow, or that will be another entry into my Dammaz Kron... I’m pretty sure the Seraphon release will be sometime in February given that they’ve already released Psychic Awakening as a one-week release and those supplements are not deemed worthy to be dragged out for a whole month. Lumineth will be in March before Adepticon, I’m pretty certain about that.
All the chaos factions that have both daemons and mortals have two packs. I think it's more a matter of being able to give their two subfactions a distinct playstyle than a matter of how many models they have. And let's face it, daemons should fight differently from their mortal followers.
Meh, in fairness, slaanesh also only has 2 types of lesser daemons; daemonettes & fiends. Virtually all slaanesh-y daemons are heroes and far too important for skirmishes like this. It fits with the fluff to some extend. Does slaanesh have any lesser daemons that don't have models? Cuz there's none that I can think off.
I was so sure of an announcement. I feel a fool. An slightly depressed fool. The Warcry cards are no comfort to me. Either they will confirm old sculpts, or they won't. I just want the book and the ziggurat if nothing else. I want my fears and hopes confirmed or dashed. This is driving me up the pyramid wall.
Yeah the disappointment is real, walked right into that. Next Sunday there will be more restraint and maybe a hangover to keep me from abusing my F5 key too much. But a few Heros get a release, I wanted to start a Sylvaneth army someway down the road and was looking to buy that Arch Regent used, now I can get it shiny and new! The Warcry cards for both of those factions are released aswell so at least there is that. But yeah, I want that book, was hoping to start the Path to Glory campaign with all new shiny rules, but it seems I have to play the first match with outdated stuff and get stomped. Maybe it wont be that bad, but all in all it overshadows my excitment to play. So now I keep painting and hope the release is before the 29th which marks the end of the first campaign phase.
Guys, I'm sorry. But this is fucking bullshit. Lizardmen and Seraphon deserve better than this. I know, it's their company, we shouldn't feel entitled to telling them what to do, but this feeling is really fucking strong. Like I REALLY DONT THINK there's another army in Age of Sigmar with people as passionate for it then Seraphon. We're in love with the faction, with their characters and designs, there's definitely money to come for GW if they make new models, but we get NOTHING?? Is it too early to talk? I hope, but that's all we got. Hope. Nothing else. One of the first battletomes in the game, one of the last to be updated, we've been waiting for new models and they throw a stupid recycled piece of scenery that doesn't even work for anyone who has their Seraphon army not themed in a jungle??? Am I the only one feeling mocked? I wish they could at least tell us SOMETHING is coming, because we believed it was and then it wasn't. Sorry for this rant but daaaaaamn gw xd
Mocked? No, just befuddled and frustrated. Ah well. Like @brainxigor said, more restraint and more skeptism will be had next week. Still hope. I guess the Skaven Bombardier is some solace. I was thinking of making a CoS army and converting it all using Skaven/KO/AdMech parts once more of my lizards are done. He will make a fine 'Battlemage'.
So, with the announcement of the "Champions of the Mortal Realms," how much do you think they're going to charge for them? I know normal heroes like these go for about $35USD, but I'm curious if GW will pull some pricing shenanigans with these like they have with some of the 40k 10-man boxes (they retail for $60USD!! Which I think is way too much for 10 minis, regardless of how 'customizable' they can be). Go with the whole, 'well they're in such high demand'-BS, or something like that. In fairness, I can see the Loonboss & Tyrant being more since they're bigger, but I'm hoping the other 'normal' sized minis stay @ $35 and don't jump to $40+. Thoughts?
Ogroid Thamaturge and other two sprue heros are 45-50 USD, while all others are 35. If they go up, I honestly believe they will be testing the limits of charging for a single quarter sized sprue. Already they may have seen that with the malign portents heros, such as the fungoid caveshamen or the darkoath warqueen. Those were not the best selling heros of I recall, and they were 50 on release if I remember correctly. (Quarter sized because they are 1/4th of a normal full sprue)
The Skaven bombadier is a really awesome model, and makes you long for an update to Rat Ogres, giant rats, pack masters etc. Can't understand why they didn't make the Stormfiends a 2 way kit, with the choice to build rat ogres with them. What is super annoying with GW, is how they release the Warcry cards. They are limited run, so you only have short time to buy them. But then they put them in the handbook. They should have kept the cards around. I definitely like warcry a lot more now, all the good factions have arrived. I think all the chaos warbands released for warcry are crap. With the exception of the 2 that actually came in the starter set. But the rest of them are too similar or just not very interesting. IMO blades of Khorne looks better then them all. They should have instead made sculpts for marauders for the 4 individual chaos gods.
You’re right actually. I thought they had been in the previous release of cards, but having just had a look again, they weren’t in it. Just had a look at that on the website, and saw that Fyreslayers are in there, so that’s encouraging at least. Maybe Cities have got too many sub-armies to be a Warcry faction, or maybe GW have something planned for them in the future where they release separate packs of cards for Cities humans, Dwarfs and Elves as the faction has such a big roster?
I don't know what gw are thinking really. They are so inconsistent with reveals and follow up releases. Tzeentch and KO were revealed Xmas day and up for pre order first week of Jan. I can understand the elves having a build up over a month or so as they are new. We are just a book and terrain could have easily slipped us in this week
