While it seemed somewhat indecisive I do wonder if it might have wider implications for the lore of AoS. Ever since soul wars it really hasn’t been “Age of Sigmar” and more along the lines of “Age of Nagash” first we get the nighthaunt Then we get malign sorcery and the necro quake Then we get forbidden power Finally we get Katakros with his manly cod piece. IMO we just saw the zenith of Nagash’s power. Years of lore have gone into the OBR, and now they just got their asses handed to them. I’m wondering if the forces of chaos might start making a push back
These are warcry cards though.. i don't know much about that game but i'm pretty sure they're not one and the same
not quit what i ment wizard i was talking about the previus card bundle we didn't get a prevew of those due to the Campaign book
According to WotE, Katakros doesn't see the return of Archaon as anything but part of his master plan. They hold the 'Endgate', and have built a fortress there. The War for the Eightpoints isn't over, it's honestly just starting. So, I agree with @LordBaconBane, it is time for us to suddenly come crashing into the Eightpoints and start slaughtering Ananthema and Undead alike.
Am I the only one glad that the new Seraphon 'stuff' is being held back longer than we thought? This way we can all enjoy the suspense and have fun guessing what it all means. And all in a mature way without getting angry.......
Its just a bit frustrating. Honestly, the longer they put it off, the more likely I find it to be accompanied by more of something.
In these days i've got so many things to do that i would have problems if i should keep the pace of everything. Because seraphon would come first.
Aren't there some were canonically battles were fought upon them? meh, if you don't have the STD book it's a nice preview I guess. But bit weird taking that book into account yeah. I actually kinda agree Is there some way to get a quick summary of books like this? Besides scrolling through wiki pages in the hopes of finding usefull details? It'd be nice to be able to follow the general story-line but without needing to buy a book about factions I don't necesarly really care about. wouldn't even be all that surprising.
I'm with you @Carnikang . I'm still holding out for something more, though I'm about 96% sure we're not getting anything. My biggest question is: do they always tease new minis via the rumor mill? I ask because I feel a our minis are pretty iconic/recognizable and no other faction has motifs in aesthetic as unique as ours. We don't use traditional bladed or blunt weapons so any weapon preview would be instantly recognizable. Same goes for any gems, jewelry, and armor. I mean the only lizzie-like tease we got, I automatically thought it was Seraphon, but alas it was that damn zoat that I didn't even know existed...lol. I suppose they could tease something insignificant like straps or barding or what-have-you, but even then I'm sure it'd be hard to hide all the scales. I guess small scenery bits from bases could be teased...that's only if said new models have any that is! Could it be that we haven't gotten any RMs because of this?! I know, I know, I'm just feeding the dream of new minis. But hey, the slann dreamed down the seraphon at first and now they're real and here to stay, so....yeah, haha!
I think some of you guys need to go back and reread the LVO preview as objectively as you can. To me, it was the most masterful way you could possibly spin the news of "sorry guys, no new units yet." They could possibly do. They did so slick a job, in fact, that a lot of us missed that message and were like "so you're saying there's a chance!" But no, look at how they worded it. They are letting us know that we are getting these 2 things, no more, no less. Could they surprise us with more? Sure. But that wasn't the message. Anyway, I just don't want this forum to be filled with unfounded negativity when the preorders are announced. I don't want earnest lizard-loving fans to feel hurt. I don't want hopes to be dashed, yours or mine. Pessimism is the way forward, friends!
There's 1 rumour engine per week. Sometimes multiple rumour engines of the same model/unit. They release more than 1 unit per week. So yeah, loads of stuff gets released without a rumour engine There are indeed very few things that can be teased from our models (or potential new sculpts) that wouldn't scream seraphon. We have a rather distinct style. And even when you stick to just vaguely lizard-like things that could be mistaken for something else, like a tail as shown in the zoan tease, or a dragon you'l very quickly give it away. There's simply very few other scaly models for which you could possibly mistake them. But since even minor details like he scales of various species tend to be quite distinct even those kinda rumouer engines tend to be rather obvious (there was a dragon tease a while back where everyone immeadiatly recognized the scales...) I mean, I doubt that it works that way, but I can definitly see this being an issue for GW when trying to build hype using the rumour engine.
No. Objectively, they only said "These two things will be coming soon" that is all that article gave us in regards to release. Otherwise, speculation is fine. Hope is fine. I will be happy regardless of what is actually released. I already have plans to get conversion fodder or 3rd party models for several units if they don't release new sculpts. It changes only who I am paying for models. Also, the only negatively I see regularly is about how long we have to wait, how poor our current set of rules are, and how GW is dumb for leaving us for last. Mixed with a bit of salt about 40k, AoS taking over from WHFB (still mild), or the occasional troll.
