hey i can be negative about anything just give me a subject and ill run with it(long beards are my spirit animals)
They actually said: 'You won’t have long to wait until this new Seraphon battletome and scenery hits shelves – keep an eye out for more previews soon' More previews of the Battletome and scenery, or MORE things? Open to interpretation.
This reminds me of the phrase "pessimists outlive optimists" which I first heard on Netflix's Sex Education (great show btw lol). I'm not being overtly serious with my comment anyway, it's mainly just wishful thinking lol I agree in that GW definitely found the most objective & obscure way to let us know what's coming and I'm definitely holding all real expectations in check. Only things I'm actually expecting are the new BT, terrain & warscrolls. Anything in addition to that is just sweet jungle icing on my dinosaur-shaped cake!
it's our most resent appearance in silver tower. a outpost lead by a star seer is visited by gotrek when we tel him he shouldent destroy a realm gate gotrek wanders off and one of his companions stabs the seer in the back. taking umbrage with this the entire conclave attacks and are all killed by a storm cast prosiquter a witch elfe assassin and a normal dwarfe off screen wile gotrek kills a world snake
all part of the plan, I guess I thought you were referring to another appearance I didn't hear about, English is not my first language so I didn't really check the whole audiobook
the last part is the only interesting bit, but it needs reading in between the lines to consider it valuable info and it's most likely not going to get picked up by the main lore writers
I mean yeah, there's nothing wrong speculation itself, or even holding out hope. If anything, I'm speculating too, right? Speculating that this is all we are getting. But mine is founded on what they told us. You're founding your speculation on what they Didn't tell us, right? My point was that mine is the surer bet, so for those who might feel bruised, don't get your hopes up. As for negativity, I'm just anticipating a lot of salt when our preorders are announced as a book, terrain, and a set of cards (+/- dice). That's the negativity I was referring to, the negativity that is verly likely to come. Perhaps I don't need to worry, as this board may be pretty inured to it, as the overall tone here is positivity.
Yes, I hear it, but I also don't. As you quoted it, they said "More previews" and NOT "More things." Yes, they could be previews OF more things, but considering they would certainly say there were "more previews" if it's just the 2 items, and it would be poor hype-building to not say "more things" if there were indeed more products, it just seems very flimsy. I mean, I LOVE to speculate. But after that announcement, I feel like I just got told all that model speculation is now moot, so I'm not going to willfully set myself for sure disappointment now, lol.
I'm already slightly bored by the terrain piece. It just looks so plain. The most exciting thing about it is potentially strong rules. But if the rules are lackluster too, then zzzzz...
Agreed. I'm pre-ordering the book & cards (and dice if there's any) and planning to check the rules on the terrain first before deciding if I want to buy it or make my own (...or both since there's allegedly two rulesets/roles for it...prolly gonna do both in the end lol).
No, mine is also founded on what they told us. They did not give any specifics about other releases. My speculations are also based on previous releases, GWs history with the faction, and the direction they're going in when it comes to the story. It's quite a ripe time to include us, and even help us bridge the rest of the mortal realms with Hysh, as Teclis and Turions forces are feeling from Archeons attack on the prison of Slannesh. They've shown they do have releases on a schedule that can definitely coincide with lore events. Our Sauras sculpts across the board (barring the Carnosaur and Sunblood) are showing deep age. They also do not match half the current artwork in official publications. On top of that, the cavalry is boxed in a way that does not conform to the majority of their cavalry units. You'll note that the majority are in boxes of 3, 5, or 10 across all armies. Ours are boxed as 8, but units are multiples of 5 in our rules. They have even said themselves that we are a popular faction! New models for a popular faction's almost always sell. It'd be like printing money for them. Even if they were just a SC variant like the S2D box, they'd literally be making profit off the old kits, while easily making back the cost of the molds for the new kit. It makes business sense. I don't understand why you believe that just because your bet is 'better' that you have the right to go out and blatantly tell people who are enjoying themselves that they are clearly wrong (when in fact, that cannot be proven). That's absolutely inane to do on a public forum in a Rumor/News topic. As it is, your pessimism is noted, and dismissed by myself. Others may agree with you, and eventually you may be proven right, but it is not something I care to read when it comes to this.
So as I've stated before, the new blood bowl sculpts would be a indicator that there are new minis on the way.
They had new models in the works, but Sotek ate them before they could be mass produced, saving the lizardmen from utter annihilation
I think the BB style gutter runners and assasins would make for a wonderful basis for the full unit. With all these assets they've been showing through secondary and tertiary lines, you'd think they'd take a shot at updating more lines along side new army releases.
If we didn't already know blood bowl releases can be detached from the releases of the main game and show very different designs, then I'd be led to believe the contrary was true: that blood bowl miniatures are proof there was no other team working on lizardmen sculpts at the time they were made the sauri and tiny slann are practically downright copied from total war designs, while the skinks take from the blood bowl videogame if there were other lizardmen sculpts being worked on behind the scenes, the blood bowl sculptors wouldn't have the need to copy outside designs as they could reference the redesigns of the new lizardmen behind the scenes in a similar vein, since the cover of the new battletome is SO MUCH similar to a total war design we can expect it not being based on any hypothetical new miniature as the designers would have applied their own spin to it instead
