Saurus have been the face of the last two battletomes, and have arguably the best model in our range in the Carnosaur, which GW would no doubt be reluctant to retire. Saurus aren't going anywhere. We might not get new sculpts this time around, but I think GW must be well aware of the fact that there is good money to be made in a new Saurus range, so we should just bide our time until the next tome. Hopefully, the one we get in the meantime has enough bells and whistles to keep the army competitive and entertaining to play for the next couple of years
Am so stoked for this release. Really hoping to finally get some use out of my 70 saurus warriors for something other then dying as soon as they enter combat. Thats what skinks are for. Especially since saurus are the reason i got into the hobby in the first place Also maybe this is just because i have only been in the hobby for 1 year but i still really like our saurus sculpts. Honestly the only sculpts that i feel really needs an update is kroxigor, salamanders and our cold ones the rest are fine in my opinion
Let's not judge about our capabilities based on a single warscroll. Oldblood is ok. His weapons are stricktly better. I think, Greatblade is the best now, because of Rend -3. We can give Oldblood the Ghyrstrike for maximum. 3 attacks 3+/2+ -3 D2 and exploding 6's are very nice. And he can command himself for additional +1 to-hit. There are a lot of other realm artefacts to play with. But I doubt it will be worth it. +1 save, as stated above, is strictly better then ignore rend -1. And arguement that it was our special gimmick simply don't work, since we weren't the only faction to do this - at least one Sylvaneth Artefact could do the same. And rules are just rules. They change and change often. I am sure that if they just chaged stardrake shield to "add 1 to the save rolls of the model bearing stardrake shield" everyone would like it. GW just streamlined warscroll, removing uneeded rules and adding it to the profile itself. Besides, maybe Shield of Aeons will provide now comlete ignore rend on top of 3+ save? Special rules are also better. Exploding 6's makes him basically old sunblood. Old ability was bad because limited range on worked on models, not on units. It was hard to take advantage of. Command ability was nice, but was very gimmicky for modern AoS standards. New one is better in terms of powerplay. Blant + to-hit, wound etc. are the best buffs. Boring but effective. Especially if Sarurus will hit on 3+. And it has a good range. And if they remove skinks with pipes and shields, it will be a huge insult. We should spam them with collective discontent letters - facebook, rule team mail, everywhere. Each seraphon player has at lest a couple dozens of them, I'm sure. Buit and painted. But I still think, that they didn't include option for warcry just because another option would be redundant. Or they wanted us to get another box to build unpolular wargear option.

Now the wait begins until the youtube reviews of the full book coming saturday. I can't imagine them getting rid of blowpipe skinks, my huge amount of skinks all got blowpipes so they better not :s The all jurrasic park stuff sounds fun though, can only hope they do something interesting with them to match the Ogor monster lists such as counting for more models, otherwise a monster list will be very hard to pull of (Ogor monsters counting for 10 models is soooo good and enables that playstyle entirely).
I've said it before and I'll say it again. ALL monsters should count as 5 models for objectives, BASE. Why not 10? Well Mawtribes needs their special rule to stay special, and since their foot troops count as 2, I figured it was just an act of doubling them for objectives. But still, all monsters should be counting as 5 models, to make monster lists more viable.

I somehow have mistaken -1 for -3. Laaaame. But he is still on par with basic melee hero of other faction. Not the best but not the worst either. He is indeed not a beatstick but command ability is good.
So my guess on the whole shield thing; almost every unit has some shield effect. It’s probably going to be put in our alliegence abilities, probably a 6+ fnp. as for the pyramid, it looks awesome, and even if it isn’t great I’m still going to get it edit; a painting guide for skinks just got released. It all lines up
