also this line "Realmshaper Engines are placed on the table along with the rest of the terrain" is plural i think you can take more then one of them
100% must buy. Put a wizard and as as many Razordons in there as possible and create a nice no-go zone, lol. Would be hilarious if you could garrison behemoths in it.
meh it just feels weird to have an ability that targets enemies within 3" of a terrain piece on a terrain piece that has restrictions on how easily enemies get within 3" of that terrain piece. Not a big deal, but definitly counterintuitive. that'd imply they have pointcosts, unless they spawn organically like nurlge trees. Plus it makes it more likely this is all it does. Not a fan of that interpretation.
I think the ability is supposed to be used mainly with other terrain pieces not only on itself. Since you can target any terrain on the board it is more of a deterrent to keep your opponent from camping faction terrain or even to help herd them towards a killbox.
I don't think by the description of the lore ("Eventually, Realmshaper Engines create an area so big that it can hide an entire army, and a network of them can manifest a jungle large enough to host a temple-city inside it") that you coul have more than 1 on the board. 1 = an army A network = a temple-city Plus summoning Seraphon lists are a already a pain to transport. Please don't make it that hard! 1 should be enough!
Yeah, it's way better than I hoped it would be. 18" range for the +2 on the trigger roll is a huge part of the battlefield, so your opponent either eats quite a few MWs or moves and positions his units in unfavourable ways. Everything regarding the reveals is looking pretty nice so far, I am still waiting for the neon red, flashing, font size over 9000 BUT in the form of some restrictions. (And mostly unuseable battalions like every other battletome, I think that's a given at this point).
The garrison rules says that you can set up units in it when it’s within your territory not only your deployment zone.
o, I just thought if something cool. What if we can use the temples as drop pods? The temple starts of the table with a bunch of units in it. You land it after a couple of turns, dinosaurs pour out and rip and tear through your enemy lines while a skink priest stands atop it turning the surrounding lands into jungle. It'd be fluffy, it'd fit with the idea mentioned earlier of fielding multiple of them, and it'd explain why we can garison 20 wounds worth of stuff despite only the skink heroes and slann currently doing anything significant while garisoned, which isn't even half that value. Plus, it'd be hilarious to deepstrike carnosaurs into enemy lines
It's still possible that there's other rules that include wording such as "within X inches of Slann Stasters, Astrolith Bearers or Realmshaper Engines..."
I don't think there will be multiple in a game, as they could have just been referring to the terrain piece plurally to encompass all known engines. If they can be multiple though, oh boi. This is going to be more expensive than I thought....
I suspect this will be the case! I imagine the Slann or one of our lore spells, for example, may have a 'while garrisoned in a realmshaper engine' rule. It may even be that some sub-factions (terraformer-focussed coalesced?) have add-on rules, to make it d6, for example. Best to avoid disappointment and accept that it's 'ok' and be pleasantly surprised. If they had revealed anything that had us all unanimously jumping for joy at how strong it is, you know we'd just be hit with an urgent FAQ like the tomes before us...
Can some1 please explain what garrisoning actually does and how it benefits that unit that is garrisoned inside it
