I can only shudder at that 3 movement across the board. They are probably beastly in combat, but most scenarios require some sort of movement (snatch and grab, keep away, seek and destroy).
They do have the double for +3 movement and the Hearthguard can make a bonus move and attack for a triple after they've taken some wounds, I'm nervous but excited to try them out soon.
Thursday I will be attempting my first bout in warcry using Seraphon with this; (I used Splintered Fang Originally, probably going keep using them though haha) x1 Saraus Gaurd Leader (220) x1 Teradon w/ Bolas (170) x3 Skin Blowpipe (195) x1 Ripper (175) x3 Saurus w/ Spears (225) ------------------------------(982) It will be my Perma list since it's for a bi-weekly tome of champions campaign(one battle every other week). The idea is really the chance to use every ability from that is available when needed so hopefully nothing gets wasted. I'm a big fan of all the abilities minus the leader double I think those type of abilities is more situational thus rarely used from my previous experiences.
I'm trying a similar list tomorrow night. 1x Ripper leader 1x Terradon w/bola 8x skinks w/blowdarts 1x Saurus w/spear 1000 pts
New errata for Warcry but no specific changes to our cards. https://www.warhammer-community.com/faqs/?orderby=post_created&order=desc#warhammer-age-of-sigmar
Yes they are, and the arms and heads are all from that kit, I just used a lil bit of milieput to reposition.
Nice conversions! I feel this might've been mentioned already, but getting the BB team for a Warcry warband might be the most fiscally reasonable conversion for that set (provided you have leftover bits from other lizzies). I would jump on it if I didn't already have such a large back log of lizzies on sprues lol.
Lol derp I mean obvs the halberd and head/skull pieces are from the temple guard kit and the shields sre from the normal saurus warriors kit. U goof
So, I finally had a chance to play with Seraphon in warcry today using the listed I mentioned earlier. I did two games vs Ogor Maw, they were both killing victory conditions, one was killing half of the Warband, and the other was to kill the leader, I lost horribly both times. Honestly, Ogor Maw is /too/ damn good in Warcry almost impossible to kill them with non-elite focus lists. It's not my first time playing against them either, they're just not fun play against we like to call it "survival" when we play them here. If it was an objective-based victory I'm sure it'll be okay, but if anything involved killing it's just not going to happen. /endrant Although I had fun playing with Seraphon they have the ability to make very versatile lists with them which I look forward too, and I made one change to my current list which will be -2 Saurus w/ Spear -> +1 Saurus Guard. Also to note this was supposed to be a campaign battle, but they decided to push off till this upcoming week for my actual campaign battle since everyone was already paired up.
So. I played this week with my earlier list also. It ended up being a 4 player match, with thick terrain, against FeC, Gitz, and Sig-marines. Held up pretty well, but not a big fan of 4 player. Was fun, but got bogged down pretty bad. I'll have to wait to see if the range heavy list will be ok in a normal match.
I was able to use a list last weekend, but I am decently limited at this time with painted models so it was a pretty strange list but insanely effective for objective based games. My list was: Saurus Alpha 7x Saurus Warriors w/ Clubs 5x Skinks w/ blowpipes It's a horde, which doesn't utilize our more mobile units, but i was able to swarm and out activate his units in an objective holding game. I probably won't use this list again, because i have painted more usable models since, but it was interesting to see how well the saurus ability works in a pinch.
The twist we pulled was "howling winds", -1 attacks and strength on all shooting attacks...so it pretty much made the skinks useless, but their high movement was what won me the game, so they definitely performed! The saurus were mostly tanking, because they're cheap for 10 wounds toughness 4, they were relatively hard to kill, and the large numbers was great for board control. All in all the saurus did well, but in any other scenario i think i'd take more skinks and less saurus.
