To me that sounds kinda nice with the mortal wounds we can dish out. An extra ranged 65% chance of 3 dmg. Feels like we can snipe a lot more with the new wizards
Honestly, the Ripper Warscroll and the wording on the Blot toad have me thinking about MSU rippers with the Chief tagging along, activating single Toads to kill units as a large blob. Could be fun.
A coalesced saurus army seems the most consistent option so far for dealing damage and somehow resist. But with no summoning neither teleport to support it, it will be a one-trick pony.
The problems of making the fluff match the actual tabletop... they never should've made Nagash or Kroak playable characters, hell even a slann should already be ridiculous on the tabletop in terms of magic prowess.. ah well
Been thinking about that too. But with the Chief and three regular Rippers costing the exact same, you need a ton of Rippers to break even with his command ability.
Hm, so I can't tell if the Blot Toad will be a "per ripperdactyl unit" ability which can be used once per combat phase, or if it's going to be a "once per battle" kinda thing? The design note at the bottom says: Blot Toads are not units; they are markers used to indicate which enemy units are affected by this ability and how many times you can use this ability in a battle. (Fellow spanish speakers, please feel free to clarify lol) Tthe "how many times" bit has me leaning towards it being used more than once and is 1 toad/unit, but it could also mean the opposite I guess, lol. If it's per unit, oh baby! We're gonna see a lotttt of ripperdactyl lists hahaha!
Nah. Today i've got negative feelings, i've earned the right to show them. When the book will arrive, i'll turn back to my positive attitude and i will squeeze out of it every ounce of good material, to lead my lizards to victory once again. But not today, my friend.
Also, with the MSU approach you run afoul of activation problems. Rippers lost the shield ability, they are even more squishy than before.
True, which will be something to consider. But then again, perhaps there is a command ability that allows units to fight first or something that lets you change up the Activation Wars.
the hilarious part of this is.... all this information is based on mostly the warscrolls…. that we have always had less power in... we haven't seen all the aligeince abilities, the traits the relics or the spell/prayer lists
Well saurus knights will be fun, with rerolling charges and all the coalesced stuff they can be pretty cool. each Knight can put out 7 attacks a model with coalesced buffs (8 for the leader). Lances will be cool on the charge and rerolling hits of 1 and +1 from Koatls claw will be pretty potent. Stack some wounds from a starpriest and we got a pretty solid unit
