So, Prime Warbeast, the command ability for the Thunder Lizards constellation, says it applies to mounts. The way the warscroll for Engine of the Gods is worded, the crew is treated as the mount, not the Stegadon. Does this mean that Prime Warbeast would buff the Skink Crew? That sounds thematically silly, but...that is how I'm reading it?

That feels kinda weird. And kinda reduces it's uses, somewhat. I hope they fix it in the FAQ.

It says the crew is treated in the same manner, so it also applies on them, but even so on the mount itself.
It's not that the skinks are the mount and the steggy is the rider...

They both benefit, so ne reduced use as far as I see it

...Actually, that brings up another point in the opposite direction! If you take an Engine of the Gods hero, wouldn't most items apply to the Stegodon? Like "pick a weapon, it gains X" type items, seeing as mechanically it is the hero.

Wow, these guys are poorly thought out mechanically...lol.

So, only the Skink Chief and Skink Priest are the heroes for the Steggadon model. At the moment the horns and feet are neither mount nor hero. It is an oversight that needs to be FAQ'ed.

Im confused. It doesn't say it's not a mount. It says the crew are part of the mount. How does that stop us from using the Command Trait from Thunderlizards?

RAW the EOTG is the hero atm. there is no priest on the EOTG anymore. read the warscroll description. on the WS there is zero mention of a priest or any other hero. while this may not be RAI, as is... the EotG CAN currently be equipped with weapons on its horns jaws or stomps.

Thats what I thought. Which is why the EotG is a good choice in Thunderlizards. Not to mention he also has 2 more wounds than Skink Chief... Sad. But 14 wounds EoTG is pretty nice.

Hello fellow lizards, as I can't find a strict Stegadon topic, my question is. Are the stegadons from thunder lizards (batteline) treated in the same manner as Ogor's batteline? I mean are they not counted as monsters for the purpose of being batteline or is it only restricted to Ogor's?

Yes, Stegadons, which are battleline do not count to behemoth limit.

the stegadon is still a mount.
has a section on the war scroll which says in bold "mount" and describes that the models stegadon attacks with stomps jaws and horns.

so prime warbeast does buff those attacks but also the crew as they are also treated as mount. so for the engine it just means you get an extra javelin to throw

they are still a monster as they have that keyword, but they no longer take the behemoth battlefield role

the war scroll on the app has "this model is commanded by a skink priest" so it does have a "rider" they changed it in the faq, the book released without that part. so an artefact would affect the priest but it has no attack profile. the stegadon and crew are the mount and receive any benefits of being such
